the double video comes out at 8pm, in roughly an hour for the uk people who are sad squares and haven't seen any of the leaks yet due to not knowing how to see them, like me.

i'd say the poverty issue is relevant but is the tip of the iceberg. sex work is a loaded thing due to its relationship with socioeconomic disadvantage, this means it's often a profession resorted to by trans people and people of colour, even refugees. there's also the relationship to drug use, addiction, sex trafficking and rape. it isn't just "appropriating anything"... it's far more complex

in tropico i got the impression she was a sex worker. weirdly in the ride video, i..... didn't get the impression she was. i did get the impression she was suggesting she was poor though. think what critical people are talking about here is the relationship between sex work and poverty of which there's a strong link and the glamorisation of it being problematic due to the consequences of it for many people, particularly if they're marginalised

i am interested to see how this album holds up in 7 or 8 months compared to the others. at the moment i think i'm just hungry for the full tracks and the delays have just made me more eager in some ways. so.. she knows what she's doing imo do have to remind myself of how many countless snippets i've heard and how lyric and production changes may create disappointment. maybe playing devil's advocate here or being pragmatic whatever

have to say, i do admire the fact she's so incredibly not fucked about what she wears day to day. that sounds sarcastic but it really isn't, i dunk on her at times sure but comfort matters to her and i respect that

i think the only concern really is that by still mentioning and glamorising it she maybe doesn't inherently see class As as a 'bad thing' in the way that she should? like.. i've known addicts and when they've truly been in recovery the idea has disgusted them and they haven't had any romantic notions about it. granted she's a stranger, so you can't really judge accurately. all i'm assuming is that if she is still doing hard drugs they haven't necessarily fucked up her life to the point of no return and the proof in that is her success. heroin and even alcohol are not creative substances

given how much she talks about substances i would agree i think it's unlikely she hasn't done them recently, i also kind of feel like she finds drug culture attractive and that it actually careers into the sexual when it comes to men. i think if we're gonna judge her on lyrics alone (which granted could be reductive) she is very much a nihilist and very unapologetic about that

i like the greatest, but i think there'll be other songs i prefer on NFR. obv i appreciate the google play release but i really wanted the impact of hearing it fully for the first time with a music video. this era is this era tho i guess
