  1. 2 minutes to go, thanks for the laughs everybody. and boy have i laughed at this thread. so many of you are damn great xoxo
  2. watch me cry the minute i listen to the entirety of this damn thing in 10 minutes like every single album she's ever released
  3. i honestly feel like she was the soundtrack to every single crush/heartbreak/depressive episode during my twenties and what i find fascinating is how it's felt like i've grown up alongside each release since 2011 (i am now 30) my favourite is ultraviolence, however i feel i appreciate honeymoon now in this way i didn't when it first came out. like.. i can see how mature that record was and i feel that was why i just didn't appreciate it how i should've at the time (not suggesting it's that way for anyone else who doesn't like it). i get so much more out of it now born to die/paradise came out just after my first long, serious relationship ended when i was 21 and although it has a special place in my heart, i feel like it's a nihilistic, funloving, more naive record in comparison to her others - and that's pretty much exactly who i was at the time. i don't find it anywhere near as relatable as i did, but i do and will forever love so many of those songs lust for life i can take or leave but again.. memories of me and my friend listening to it together when it first came out and us having a little cry. the video for 'love' came out around the time i had this new crush and it fitted perfectly how i felt, i remember the excitement of it
  4. this thread has reached that point where it feels like everyone's going to make a departure speech about their part in it *clinks glass with spoon* it's been a ride everybody, a real ride.... what can i say. there's been ups and downs, highs and lows but no one died. though i'm sure many of us would have gladly run each other over at one time or another, i... *camera fades out*
  5. incredible work on your various lana music video roles, i'm just glad this has brought everyone together
  6. i was in so many of lana's videos in my mind, it's been fantastic
  7. i think this has definitely beaten the fuck it i love you and the greatest videos for me. mostly cos it was so unexpected of her but still has all the elements of lana herself. i'd say the first two videos whilst incredibly beautiful stuck to the latter
  8. i absolutely love the doin' time video jesus christ finally i can get on board this era hello
  9. lol thank you <3 (briefness of this answer made me laugh so much idk)
  10. ohhhhh. she's written about barrie a couple of times in this new record? unexpected, i had no idea. anyone got any info on this? (sorry if it's been talked about a tonne of times)
  11. yes it was an approach which basically conveyed she was a centrist and didn't rule out republicanism entirely, which isn't very "bernie sanders". the way to resolve it would be for her to say what she meant properly instead of professing to have totally opposite views. i'm relieved you're in her head and know what she thinks though
  12. yep. there's aspects of it she finds romantic and it's why she'd never commit herself or champion bernie sanders (not that it would serve her anyway), to suggest otherwise is fucking stupid
  13. she's too in love with the 'american dream', the settler colony and sexual attraction to rugged white men with shotguns to rule out republicanism entirely, let's be honest
  14. it's been a few days and i'll level with you, as beautiful as i find the FIILY and TG video i..... haven't been listening to the songs and both of them are new to me so i am kinda worried. just hope the songs from snippets i think i'll love will save it along with a couple of other new ones. isn't like me though, don't think i've ever not played her new songs repeatedly when they've come out. think i'm gonna find this very mixed
  15. probably because many of us don't feel we've heard the same vocals live or she's avoided them entirely by doing a higher pitch. that doesn't take away the fact she does have a damn good voice and loads of people use autotune. she had a very cinematic sound originally that is damn hard to recreate live anyway
  16. gotta admit although i know it was heavily autotuned i do miss lower voiced lana, made all her songs so much more emotive for me and i think that's why although i look forward to some of the NFR songs i've heard so far i don't feel i'm being punched in the gut the same
  17. what i'd have given for a t-shirt with 'fuck it' on the front and 'i love you' on the back
  18. i kinda laugh now when the thought originally was that the imagery was gonna be super stripped down and catering to a more 'indie' 'male audience' simply because of that mariner's cover photo and some of the awkward selfies. more than anything i'd say she's kept her brand visually with some progression, however the most progression is in the sound. credit where it's due, we do still have so much of the old lana in there it's just more grown up even than honeymoon was still would've loved to have heard it without the snippets, not gonna lie
  19. i like the billboard cover but the window shot i find so uncomfortable and awkward, not sure what they were going for there. as for the video, i think it is really beautiful. i.... don't think fuck it i love you and the greatest are gonna be the tracks that stand out for me most on the album, however i can see why so many love the greatest and why it'll be the song that gets her the acclaim she wants
  20. who would want the CD that wasn't explicit?! don't people love themselves
