Pilton, ENG @ Glastonbury Festival - June 28th, 2014

I completely agree with BloodRedJam. She appeared bored as hell and had a constant rabbit in headlights face on her. She didn't work the stage of the crowd and she sounded like she just could not be bothered. Video Games was good though. She didn't have one of the largest crowds cos she was Lana, it's because she was on the main stage and people automatically stay there to see the big names. -
Lana Del Rey Defends Herself Against 'The Guardian' Controversy
howiet1971 replied to Sitar's topic in New Interviews
Firstly I don't care that she said it, what actually irritates me more is fans blindly defending what she said. The fact is, she said, he questioned what she said, she confirms it, then she elaborates on what she ssid. Giggle or no giggle she said it. Deal with it. -
I adore BTD, and was SO excited about UV, but was gutted after I heard it as i couldn't hear any melodies, her voice was poor and shrill and I was completely unimpressed. I am a Lana fan, not a Lizzy fan so didn't like the 'new' sound. HOWEVER - I LOVE the album now! It works best for me on my ipod; that's where it clicked into place. The album is not so instantly accessible as BTD, and needs a few listens in my opinion. I wanted more NA and SS etc, and there aren't any of those on UV. But it's like an onion, peel the first layer and there are many more to discover. It's beautiful, it's flawed, her vocals are 'real' and raw. Relieved I love it and my disappointment has past.

Gorgeous video.

Really reminds me of Sheryl Crows Wilflower album.

If you're loving UV (especially the vibe of Brooklyn Baby) check out Sheryl Crows hugely overlooked "Wildflower" album. Try these... X

Ultraviolence Reviews: 74 Metascore (DISCUSS REVIEWS ONLY)

And to finish... it's tune less. It's amateur. What on earth was she thinking. It's like she pressed a career self destruct button. Drivel like Florida Kilos, Fucked My Way. Dear god alive. To think she abandoned a completed album along the lines of black beauty... Am I on my own? -

I can't even be bothered to read the critics reactions. Why? Cos the only opinion that matters to me about it is mine. BTD is my fave album of the last decade probably. It's immense. It's luscious. It's painfully beautiful. UV is almost painful for me. Most songs sound the same . Most vocals are poor in comparison to BTD. The songs and her vocals have lost their beauty for me. I like 3 songs so far. Really hoping it's gonna be a grower. As I've said before, I am a huge Lana fan but not a Lizzy fan. The record company must be crapping themselves. -
If u haven't heard the album yet it's on her official YouTube .

No, wasnt aimed at you. It's aimed at those who think it's normal and ok to abuse people on here. Those people are so brave behind the anonymity of the internet. Poor souls. -

I am disgusted with some of the 'fans' on here. That they feel so superior for loving every single piece of music Lana creates, they sycophantically accpet everything as perfection and abusively dismiss others criticism like trolls. It must be age or intellectual under development. My opinion on Lanas latest is that so far I am underwhelmed and nothing is matching BTD era. I am a Lana fan, not a Lizzy Grant fan. The styles are very different. This does not make me a hanger on or less of a fan. BTd is my favourite album of the last decade. Perfection. I am withholding judgement until the album is out in full as sometimes music is better as a whole, not heard as 1 track. Fingers crossed. As for those who don't like it when people have a different opinion; grow up and get over it. -

'Ultraviolence' Tentatively Set to Drop on May 1, 2014
howiet1971 replied to Sitar's topic in New Releases
Some of yu need ot understand how record companies work. They have tentative release dates which is what Lana will refer to when she says when something will be released. She has NO say in the release date or if it gets pushed back, so she isn't lying when a date is given, she's just saying what she knows at the time. This happens all the time. The best option for her is to NEVER say when somethng is expected to be released. -
