    lana pls start a twitch

I’ll watch you play Mario kart

THE WAY SHE SAYS “I can’t I have no memory” we love a sassy queen

also I really really hope no one finds the uncropped version and tries to dox her :suicide: also girl where’s your mask??

  2. I’m back and here are my thoughts.
(Some context I’ve been a KatyCat since 2009 (it’s been hard fam) and honestly she was the one who told me about BornToDie in 2012 so I wouldn’t be here (on Lanaboards) without her so shoutout - but also that means I do already have a liking for Katy, but I’m still ready to critique this album “fairly”.)

Never Really Over. Such a bop, I’m a fan let’s go.

Cry About it Later. Kinda love it. This is the sound direction I originally wanted her to go down with Prism. Its not bubbly, it’s not darkness, it’s a cool mix of both.

Teary Eyes. WHO IS EVER IN CHARGE OF HER SINGLE CHOICES NEEDS TO BE FIRED. I’m here for this, the club bop of the album.

Daisies. I like this song, It’s a very “KatyPerry” song in terms of, here’s a bunch of metaphors or basically If it sounds like it could be on TeenageDream. (not a bad thing but like someone else said, where’s that song writing growth)

Resilient. Loved the demo of this but after hearing it’s by the people who did “Firework” I’m not sure if I expected it to be more? Could’ve been on Prism iop

Not The End of the World. This is different but I’m actually a fan, this is a sound I like. It kinda reminds me of BlackWidow as well for some reason, especially after the demo leaked. I like this though.

Smile. I haven’t really liked this song ever since it leaked. Oop still indifferent, skip. I’ll keep the solo and not the featured version thanks.

Champagne Problems. I want to like this song but something about the chorus is just throwing it off for me. I’m a fan of the verses but something about it being just another weekend bop song, you know what I mean? another expected KatyPerry song.

Tucked. I wasn’t sure what to expect of this song because of the title (lol) but this is actually a pretty cute song. That “la la la” vocals are the best, I wanna bop along to this song driving by the beach.

Harleys in Hawaii. A bop, a hit, nothing brand new for her but I love when she sings a bit lower, the chorus for this is so Cruisey~ I’m here for it.

Only Love. Omg? Wow I wasn’t expecting this. I actually like this as well. I don’t think she’s the best songwriter in terms of personal stuff like this, I always unfairly compare her to Taylor for some reason, but it’s still kinda cute I think I like it? Lol

Her songs are so short! I was aware going into the album but seeing how quickly I’ve gotten through it is kind of jarring. The songs could be so much more!

What Makes a Woman. I don’t mind this but there’s something about the chorus that just makes me think of Trixie Mattel, fucking lol, idek. The production seems out of place or off, I don’t know what it is about it, maybe it’s the extra reverb on her voice? Idek

High on Your Supply. I’m not a big fan of this song, I get it’s just for fun and to be sassy, but it feels like an expected Katy song and it feels outdated?

Overall thoughts. I liked it, it’s not amazingly perfect but I was entertained. I wish she had’ve pushed herself a bit further and just completely jumped out of her comfort zone. Going through to decide on favourites I find I’m kinda struggling... Theyre good but not insanely memorable or shocking. This is the music I kind of expect from Katy now, except for a few songs of course.

    [spoiler\]

  3. My expectations (which is are probably completely wrong but yolo) is a shadow drop on streaming sites on Sept5 with orders for physicals same day

it just kinda feels that way, especially with the lockdown and everything happening. She released her poetry book in streaming form before physical so it’s not like she hasn’t done it before

and maybe cause it is a quarantine album she will just shadowdrop it like folklore.

i mean she’s definitely not going to shadowdrop it, I wouldn’t bet on it. But a boy can pretend

  4. "The Lakes" is beautiful. Taylor's deluxe tracks are always some of my favourites, I wish there were a couple more but this is precious and beautiful enough to stand on it's own. I'm here for it ~take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die~

  5. People who use their phones while they drive are the worst people in the world. And if you disagree, you are too.

Literallllllly, every time I see her driving videos it makes me cringe. Gurl I don’t want you getting in an accident or hurting anyone else, your aesthetic videos can wait

  6. I honestly love the cover and saw the Alt vinyl cover last night, I stupidly waited to preorder it and it’s already sold out :suicide:

I’m gonna wait and see if they reprint or at least somewhere else like UO or something sells it, or I’ll just get the normal one. I love them both tbh

Excited to see how the playlist plays out, Resilient is a bop. I liked Energy and it’s sound but I’m happy with her scrapping it

  7. RE: the group chat, fucking lol. Lana has always said she doesn’t really care about losing fans and stuff so I doubt she cares about going off on the Insta-accounts. Tbh imagine seeing those messages from fans saying you’re going through a midlife crisis and mentally unwell when you’ve tried to express how you genuinely feel? (Ofc there’s a lot up to debate about it all in the first place and I’m not even touching that convo) but still, that would feel like a slap to the face. It’s like they were trying to be sassy about it and she was just not dealing with it. Especially after everyone on Twitter was already slamming her for it, that’s not too say they should’ve been defending her but what did they expect would happen when she saw the messages? She was literally in the group chat lmao

  8. I remember putting off watching this movie for so long because I knew it would fuck me up. And so I finally watched it and it indeed fucked me up. The soundtrack is amazing. The direction and cinematography was beautiful. The acting was amazing. I can’t even, the story broke my soul and I was crying in the end credits gah I ended up reading the book as well, it was really good and gave a different kind of perspective to the silent moments in the film but I wasn’t as fucked by it because the ending felt more closed idk it was still really good though, I liked how it was written. Very stream of consciousy~~~.

I actually remember when it first came out there was a crowd of people, I had a friend who was one of them, who thought the story was creepy but I didn’t really get that vibe? Anyone else have any thoughts on that?

Also “Love my way” by The Psychedelic Furs and “Visions of Gideon” from the soundtrack creator made it onto my current playlist cause they’re such good songs
