  1. After I did this post, I also realized she teased this right after... the song anniversary, not necessarily the album..........and I can imagine maybe she'll hold until later 2025 to celebrate the album itself, even if it will be the song 11th by then. So, maybe yeah, there's hope? We did get the "Platinum Blonde" edition of Electra Heart, and even if there were no additional songs that we didn't have before, at least she "tidied up" things nicely. She did mention more Froot songs being "unfinished" for that repackage edit, so we'll see. I'm really optimistic about the new album, but I find it hard she'd go full-in without any singles before the album because she seems to enjoy the "long road" type of roll out with world building and so on.
  2. Wait, she did confirm there are/were plans for FROOT's birthday next year, right? And that would be in... March. Or April if she wanted to keep it cute and pretend there was no move up because of the leak. But yeah if there's new music coming in January/February there's no way that's happening. I think she'll probably follow the same rollout from L+F and get the lead single out in February with the album coming in April along with the Coachella performance
  3. I feel a slight Lust For Life tea where the album isn't 100% finished and she'll be tweaking it until last minute, that's the only reason I can imagine it being announced... 6 months ahead? That's crazy timing. She never gave us such big window release as far as I remember, at least not without any music already running.
  4. Jesus it's such a fugly cover lmfao, but at this point I just don't have big expectations when it comes to Album Covers. HOPEFULLY we'll get at least one beautiful professional music video for the lead single to make up for it. Or the second
  5. Did she ever confirm owing the Master? Because paying for the Mix and Master it doesn't mean she owns the Masters. She also said a lot of shit like "bankrupted label lol" joke and how she wanted Bubblegum Bitch to be a single and they kept saying no, so "beneficial to her" is probably her cute way of saying "they were the ones with $$$ lol" in 2010. She'd probably Re-sign if they were a bed of roses. But in the end, yes, like I said, she explicitly mentioned being unhappy with the song so... too much work for little return.
  6. I'm pretty sure the I'm Not Hungry Anymore debacle is label politics and now that she's out of the label the chances are close to 00000,01% of happening. She probably gets torn because she explicitly said she was unhappy with the production (I'm not even sure if we got the fucking final song since the ramblings were that stans got stems and made their own version of it??) but saw the reaction was positive by fans; she performed it on Piano during Love + Fear Tour which also indicates she stripped down the whole thing, but also knows that fans wouldn't like to have a version that isn't the original so.... She probably reads so much shit that she probably gets happy to have some leverage with I'm Not Hungry Anymore lmao.

It's also been compared to Heavy Metal Lover and Scheisse.... I'm ready. I guess it's more of it being heavy synth distorted after all. Just a few more hours.

    Ethel Cain

When people sign these contracts, they usually give "ownership" of older (independent) material as well. I'm not sure if it counts or not, but I do remember her mentioning the idea of releasing a project just so she could be free of them and move forward, do whatever it is, hope it works!

I haven't listened to anything she performed live or leaked, but any chance that this is the "pop project" that she was mentioning earlier (?) this year as stop-gate to finish her Prescription Songs/Luke connection? Whatever it is, it will be good, even if not connected to the storyline. She already mentioned that work on Preacher's Wife hasn't really begun, so I don't see it happening before 2026/27 at the earliest. But I do find it surprising that B-sides aren't/weren't ready and she's still saying they'll be happening because at this point it looks a bit... pointless? idk, I don't like that word, but it feels a bit late; releasing another project and then moving back to the "starting point" instead of just moving forward to the next album. We shall see.
  10. The rest of the was silent. omg lead single confirmed open the thread!! - Every time I see this thread on the main page I start sweating.
  11. I think it is called "Leash" but yeah we need confirmation. I guess it's the closest we'll get of any release.............

All this for a song we probably won't hear for the next 5 years at best ijbol. Just like Preacher's Wife B-sides. But I know they'll work it out on the remix <3

    SOPHIE

It's nice they're open to have more releases in the future. I can imagine it's not easy, having to revisit stuff and go through memories, files, moments etc etc etc. But a lot of collaborators will probably want to put their songs out... and I hardly think Ben or SOPHIE's family would be like "No, no way you're using this song!" since they seem pretty aware and appreciate how most of these songs came together. I don't think they'll be putting out material under SOPHIE name's though since it wouldn't be SOPHIE's vision about it. The lastest interview mentioning Take Me To Dubai/New York is Burning Down/Burn Rubber is super interesting and showcase how respectful they are of SOPHIE's wishes.
  16. It's not necessarily about fans eating things up, but the way things unfold. At worst, people were indifferent toward Violet Bent Backwards and mind you, that was during the peak of "mesh mask-gate post-Question For The Culture." Many people were enthusiastic and supportive, while Marina's ""fans"" just keep complaining and looking down on her. She's not the first or the last alt/flop girl to release a poetry book (off the top of my head, I can remember Banks & Halsey also dropping books within the last five years, to some great reviews!), but you don't see people clogging their threads and complaining. And I really hope no one will try to come with "but the music was good!!!" as a clapback.
  17. You can write this out of spoiler, in big letters and bold my sis. Just tea. I think it's just so...mean that people not only decided to drop her the moment L+F didn't sound bright, but also just shit on her nonstop. No one's telling you to read her poetry, if you don't like her anymore then just unfollow and move along. As for the poetry itself, "Aspartame" is pretty shocking (complimentary). I can understand if you find it, poetry-wise, weak, but it's still a fucking revelation in a way her music wasn't able to convey before. Also blunt. As a fan, I find it fascinating to read that and then link up with the lyrics and stories that she shared for the past ~15 years. The way you can read Hollywood in another light, you understand a lot of her "America Obsession" and so on. I haven't been up with everything posted, but I also remember how that "Sparkling Clam" can be connected to Solitaire; it's a deep dive on her mind and life. Maybe the problem was labelling it as poetry and the expectations that comes with it.

    SOPHIE

"songcrafting-wise", I kinda prefer the original My Forever demo/vocal take, but I can understand the whole feeling of this final version. It's highkey emotional to be honest, you can feel a lot of longing as if the feeling is about SOPHIE.

    SOPHIE

I think it all comes down to the fact SOPHIE was constantly switching music while playing it live. I think of this album as somehow a vehicle of what SOPHIE wanted to portray during the live shows as well, especially since that was a big piece of these songs coming together. I also find it interesting that within one of the last interviews/profiles, Ben mentions being aware of how SOPHIE was happy with certain parts but not others of some songs, so I can imagine they might decided to chop up some songs and make sure they'd all flow together. Waiting until friday to finally listen, but it's just bittersweet to imagine the world SOPHIE would build while playing live.

    SOPHIE

Liz really changed 1 line (for worse) and said "My song now xx" hun? She should speed-up the BPM as well while at it. I guess it makes sense, SOPHIE probably did allow these songs to be released and people kept them in the backseat. Now that there's an album coming, it just... makes sense to try and surf the hype.
  21. She already mentioned it's not a country album, not even Purple Irises with Blake is country. It's probably closer to the True Blue sound.
  22. It's so fucking funny to see "September 2024" while we're on the 18th day of said month with nothing. Really manifesting.
