we’ll finally get ‘in the cock in the cock in the cockpit’
-
I'm curious if the plastic bag song is a Drew BB outtake. BOZ told us around July that she was reworking the tracklist so it's possible this is an OG BB outtake
-
sometimes it’s the ones you least expect
-
mods are already on watch
-
I’ll never forget when she first debuted this song she described it as ‘the beginning and the end of the record’ and I absolutely love that description. I’ll always remember when the lyrics were passed out during her Endless Summer tour. What an unmatched time
-
She needs to take trips to New York and Italy more often, she looks happier than she has in years! I’m also really loving her style lately, she looks absolutely beautiful
-
I like Drama Never Ceases it fit's with her 'The Drama' quote on her instagram post from yesterday
-
Her posts are so sad "but as she rose to international fame she quickly realized that life isn't always like the movies. The Drama."
-
I'm sure there are plenty of OG fans who are happy, and love the direction she's going and that's awesome, I'm glad they still feel that connection. I do think whatever this album ends up being, it will be a more complete vision. She's spoken highly of the album, so I trust that there will be some highlights, but I do agree it's going to be another decisive album that is going to test some fans. I really do have hope that at one point or another she'll find that muse and be filled with ideas again. Watercolor Eyes has really pretty and creative lyrics, so we know she still has it. I think this writer's block is part of the reason she's been in the same headspace lately.
-
I completely agree. While Blue Banisters is good, it’s very hard to just casually play and enjoy the songs, it takes a very specific headspace and when you’re in that headspace it isn’t a ‘jam out’ mood. I do fear that her and I are going different directions, and it’s super easy for other users to say “well if you don’t like her or the direction she’s going, stop being a fan” because truthfully I’m not as big a fan of her as I was and it breaks my heart. I’ve had such a connection with her and the music for 10 years and it’s sad that I can’t vibe to her new music like I used to. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m so happy for the people who are happy at the direction she’s going and are getting exactly what they want from her, but I’m not anymore. When she describes the new album as wordy and raw it just sounds even less like what I want
-
the thing about 'wordiness' that gets me is she also says she isn't using colors and is just singing what comes to mind. So many of her songs have been super descriptive, and quite frankly she's doing the opposite of what I've been wanting her to do. Instead of going back to a creative writing style she's doubling down on her more recent writing style. I'm trying hard to not be negative, and I'm going to wait until we get a taste of the new music, but I am a little nervous

I mean it is really hard to tell with Lana, I was just saying that she's covered magazines many many times before without music being close. It's not out of the ordinary for her. I do like that they didn't reveal a date (the magazine in 2019 saying spring for NFR, magazines in 2017 saying March for LFL, Interview saying september for COCC) or album title. I think she didn't reveal the title because it's not set in stone yet. She's announced album titles early multiple times and ended up changing her mind (White Hot Forever, Rock Candy Sweet) I just think it's best to not overhype ourselves and think new music is coming in any time frame just because she covered one magazine. I'd love to be proven wrong though!
-
I'm not going to lie, Lana being on a magazine cover doesn't make me hype that new music is coming soon. After NFR she was on a magazine cover in October where she first talked about Let Me Love You Like a Woman and the song didn't come out for a whole year, and she did a lot of magazines in early 2019 and NFR didn't come until August. She's been known to cover magazines without music being close close. W is a fashion magazine and they don't regularly have 'music editions' so I think that's why she was on the cover this month. That said, I do think the album will probably be out this year, but I'm not going to take W magazine as an indication that it's closer than we think. Until she or her team or some reliable insiders start teasing the project I'm going to consider it far far away.

I’m still really curious about the ‘no color’ statement because how is the album going to both be very wordy, but not descriptive? I’ve never been in the ‘she needs to take a break’ boat but if the writers block she’s had since Norman isn’t gone and she doesn’t feel ‘rich with ideas’ anymore maybe she should take a break and let her creative battery recharge
-
with raw vocals from her voice memo app that Drew slapped some reverb on
-
info, maybe. Not random fake news from French husbands personally I like only getting info like this, it feels more genuine to how Lana wants us to know things
-
I absolutely agree. Imagine if we had gotten the three singles last year out of the blue instead of knowing it was coming weeks in advance. Lana has wanted to do a surprise release for years and she almost did but they kind of ruined it You’re right! No Jack outtakes have leaked, the most we’ve gotten is the instrumentals and I feel like that’s because those circulate outside of his hard drive
-
I feel like Lana’s team smartened up when it comes to info being spilled. Insiders didn’t even hear BBS until the rest of us did, it’s possible her team is keeping the whole album locked up better than they usually do
-
The rush I get when I see “LDR9 pre- release Thread” is indescribable
-
No that was not a reliable insider we have two “reliable insiders” and neither one of them have said anything.
-
At least we know we aren’t getting a single *soon* since no legit insider has said a single thing about it, and this is the first time we’re actually hearing about anything music related
-
to be honest I can kinda tell she’s been having trouble writing. Her songs have completely shifted from creative story telling to more personal ‘telling my story’ songs and I think a part of that is because of the writers block. Watercolor Eyes is the first song in years that has a more ‘creative’ story
-
This is the saddest part of the interview for me tbh. I know she talked about having writers block after LFL and before Norman but it’s so sad she still seems to be in that place

Don’t worry I’m sure dragon will make an appearance any day now to continue talking about the hazy Northern California vibes

I don’t understand the Drew hate..I’ve had my share of complaints lately but production isn’t one of them. Violets for Roses, Arcadia, and WCE all have a beautiful production
