I can kind of agree with you, I think we were expecting a whole lot more (snippets, LMLYLAW, album trailer) which does seem kinda mega hype for it being what it was (a BTS of an interview)

I think the overall reception would have been a lot better if we had gotten any kind of music either before, or announced. 
 

That said, I really do love this..I’m really hoping this sets the tone for this era and with the video out maybe the album rollout can start (??? Maybe???)

that first interview in SEPTEMBER of 2018 announcing the album title (along with two singles) 

then nothing. Hope in January (which was originally October she said in the interview) Doin Time in May. Finally huge reveal in July for a last days of August. A year.
