Tbh I don’t care or mind if it’s delayed. Music so far this year has been SO solid that I’m not itching for new Lana. If she wants to take time to perfect the album, she absolutely should. I love how she has really fleshed out her look/aesthetic. This is the first time in YEARS that she actually looks like the music she is about to release. my only hope for this era is an album trailer. I know a lot of artists don’t really do them anymore, but her album trailers have ALWAYS been next level, and she had big ideas for the Ocean one before the robbery. This album being her first ‘concept’ album in years deserves a world building album trailer

absolutely this!! Our little bubble is hyper aware of Lasso’s existence, but the album is far from being announced. I truly think the days of her announcing an album with a super long, drawn out pre release is over. LFL I don’t blame her, because Love leaked super early and the album wasn’t even ready for yet. NFR was mentioned in September of 2018, and didn’t released until August 2019, COTCC was announced in May 2020 and ended up releasing March 2021, both almost a year later. BB had multiple release dates and a lot of silence, and was out 6 months later. Ocean I think is the almost perfect scenario. Announced something was happening and then released the first single with preorder. Granted even THAT ended up getting delayed, so it makes sense they aren’t announcing Lasso yet because this far out they probably don’t even know when it’s coming

This album gets better and better each listen The Anthology still hasn’t really hit for me, except for a few songs, so I stopped listening to it with the hopes of going back to it in a month or two when the ‘main album’ has settled

Personally I don’t want an album thats taken 4 years to craft to have a ton of leaked songs and covers. I don’t see her adding any leaked songs to this album unless she heavily reworks them because it’d turn the album into another sonic mixed bag and I want a completely thought out and cohesive record

She looks and sounds absolutely phenomenal you can tell she’s a lot more confident when she’s on stage with someone else so I’m not surprised her vocals were some of her best! I’ve always thought Lana sounds amazing when it’s just her and a guitar and this further solidifies my belief!

When I say “bop” I mean OTTR/National Anthem, Diet Mountain Dew, Doin’ Time, HBTB, and Jimmy. Even Without You, a piano ballad, has SO much added production that it feels almost like a bop. I do think her albums have ‘bops’ (FIILY, TJF, Peppers, Taco truck) but they’re more chill bops, and while I absolutely can get down to them, its pretty clear they aren’t the traditional definition of ‘bop’. Cinnamon Girl with Doin’ Time energy would have serveddd. That last minute of CG is so insanely good I have no idea why it was just an outro. I think we’ll absolutely get more Lana chill bops! I think a country song with Doin Time energy would be a SERVE, but like I said, I think it’s silly to expect that because Jimmy was 5 years old and she didn’t even want to include it in the album, so that’s not what she gravitates towards releasing

Jack only solo produced 7 songs (so less than half) on the album, and 3 of them have samples. He didn’t ‘make’ Ocean, he helped and I think that’s a big difference

Not the A&W slander on that last page Severely side eyeing all of you. I do think jack has produced some of Lana’s best songs, but at this point I want someone completely new. No Jack, no Drew, no Rick, no Dan (Dan Heath can come back though). Idk why everyone here is obsessed with Dan A coming back, I haven’t enjoyed any of his work in the last 10 years and an Ultraviolence 2.0 is the last thing I want (sorry!) I’m very excited for Lasso because (hopefully) this is the first time she’s really switching up her sound since NFR came out, and I hope she really leans into country and doesn’t make it her 5th folk inspired album

Why is everyone acting like this is a jack only record? YES he’s involved, but the first song we’ve been teased with isn’t a Jack song. personally I think it’s a bit silly to hope for a super boppy album when her last ‘bop’ album was LFL which came out almost 7 years ago. I want a bop album as much as the next person but it just doesn’t seem realistic

for what it’s worth, Loved You Then and Now was described as a mix between Tulsa Jesus Freak and If You Lie Down With Me, so honestly it feels like the perfect song to be included on Lasso! I love all the songs on your playlist and I’m hoping you manifest something there

Not Lana Del LATE being the ONLY one to give them a fine I mean $28K is still a pretty hefty fine (although not as bad as the $100K+ fine they got last year) and since she’s the sole reason I hope she isn’t blacklisted or anything. I wonder who pays that fine? Lana/her label or Coachella themselves?

After a good bit of time with the album I can confidently say side A >>>>> side B TTPD is a top 3 while TA is bottom/mid tier, but I feel like both sides have their strengths. Side A I think is better melodically (and even then side B has some good moments, like The Prophecy) and side B is a bit better instrumentally while falling a bit flat melodically. I definitely do understand some of the criticism the album is getting, but I think it’s being a severely over hated just because the Taylor hate train is in FULL steam, and it’s crazy to think this is probably going to end up being one of her lowest rated albums. the biggest problem I have is there is no real summer/bop anthem. Down bad, Florida, so high school, broken heart are almost there but they all lack that little extra something. the problem is BOTH Aaron and Jack working alone is STALE and at the very least she needs to get them working together. Jack is good at vocal production and melody while Aaron shines on instrumentals and pulling good lyrics out of Taylor, but jack doesn’t shine instrumentally and Aaron isn’t great at helping Taylor get an ear worm melody

I hate long prereleases so I’m not in a super big rush for it to start, but I would love another small taste of what we’re getting. Henry come on is beautiful and I’d love to hear another part of it, or something new. the way she went from one extreme (teasing an entire album (NFR)) to the next (one snippet an era) is so funny to me. bring back the LFL level of teasing, that was such a happy medium
