  1. The billboard interview was a bit boring but the photos are amazing. Who knew I needed a Lana photoshoot in the back of a hearse
  2. I am not religious in the slightest and I would occasionally go to church myself. It’s interesting to explore religion sociologically + it’s quite pleasant if you come across a good priest and the building is historical and has a good choir.
  3. I haven’t done a proper analysis of TJF but reading the lyrics again now, I get the impression that she wanted to see the same devotion from Sean that he gave God/Jesus/Christianity. The line that I quoted earlier to me sounds like a plea from someone not really romantically satisfied and not feeling like a priority in this relationship. Find your back to my bed again/sing my like a Bible Hymn is basically her saying “please devote the same attention to me as you do to your religion”. She’s basically telling him that his religion shouldn’t come in the way and that he can still be “close to Jesus” and still show her a good time and not be sinful - hence the line we’ll be white hot forever amen if I had to make a guess about their relationship (I really don’t like looking through people’s bedsheets tbf), he was a proper conservative Christian and them not being married and stuff came in the way of their romantic life. This is what I get from the song and I could be totally wrong. I guess people hear what they want to hear. and of course I mean no offence to you @American Bottom and @honeymoon is alive, please don’t take this the wrong way at all we went a bit offtopic, mods please don’t strike us. I’m manifesting some news next week
  4. I don’t think Lana is religious. Yes she’s going to church and she is Christian but that doesn’t mean she’s religious. She has always been exploring religion in her songs from a philosophical perspective. She has many “blasphemous” lyrics: God’s dead, I said, “Baby, that’s alright with me” or When I’m down on my knees you’re how I pray
  5. You missed that twitter accounts are constantly making shit up and saying it’s from Lanaboards.
  6. Twitter even more delulu than we are. Probably they just saw someone’s unhinged manifestation here and they preach it as gospel now
  7. Chemistry: for turning sadness into gold Economics: for creating the vinyl and taco truck economy Medicine: for curing everyone’s acne mathematics: for figuring out how to get streaming numbers into the billions with just a typewriter and 18-hour naps Peace: for making putin kill himself after she says to him that she called his mother and told her he’s fucking up big time
  8. hear me on this: once Tunnel gets recognised by everyone as the best album ever and gets the long awaited grammy, and then she gets an Oscar after Candy Necklace becomes the theme song of the new Willy Wonka movie, she should just rework Behind the Iron Gates and get a Nobel Prize for literature while she’s at it.
  9. I get Miley and not wanting both albums on the same date. But a BTS outcast? If there are two demographics more far apart those are the fans of Lana and an ex-BTS guy also it was always unlikely she would enter the top 5 anyway. But it will still be 100x more streamed 5 years down the line than that kpop album would be in 100 years
  10. I think the very positive reaction to A&W from the limited circle of critics is a good sign. I feel that the song will be a perfect representation of the album - dark, melodic, some piano, somewhat instrumental, some trap beats, very different vocal styles, wordy and storytelling-style. If they liked so much diversity in 7 minutes I’m sure they’ll love the album.
  11. Even if music videos don’t generate the number of views they used to, they are important for setting the visual imagery linked to an album and helping to get the message across. For example the cocc music video really helped with that and without it probably the most common associations of the album would have been flannels and cottages. The music video brought forward the theme of longing for the balance between normality and unhinged freedom - a theme that continues to be expanded in BB and Ocean Blvd.
  12. I know that Lana may not want to do music videos, but I would be really sad if she doesn’t have one for this era. I am still not over how good COCC’s video was
  13. Ahh I must have missed that. I think it can be both a closer and an opener. In the context of The Grants I can see it working. But I also can see it being another “out of the black into the blue” I’m struggling to understand what exactly the lyric means as the grammar seems a bit off to me so if a native speaker can explain, I’d really appreciate it
  14. Now when I think about it makes sense especially since Jack calls her Jimmy and the line about calling her mother now makes a lot of sense. What if all these years Jim was just her alter ego and the way to project her own relationship with herself
  15. Everything in art is endlessly sourcing inspo from the work before you. Why would it be unfair? Both Billie and Taylor put tremendous work in their promo, image and sound which is why they top the charts. Both give credit to Lana which is super nice and not everyone does it
  16. What’s the difference between filtered and unfiltered streams and are these comparable?
  17. Aren’t playlists usually updated Fridays because that’s when 90% of songs are released? She better include more HM songs in the setlist. I need Art Deco or Religion live
