DiamondGarden had the original demo and wanted to share it but Warner wrote a warning to them as far as I know. I was one of those who could listen to a preview that had like 5 seconds and unfortunately got deleted very quickly. It was amazing, sounded similar to Power&Control/Living Dead and had the emotion of the acoustic version I believe. Always had the feeling that the final Radioactive did not suit the rest.

Lyrics to Too Afraid randomly kept coming to my head so I decided to give the song a listen after a long time. I could not stand more than a minute. Oh dear... And she better release something new quick to save her reputation in the industry (at least I hope she will). What was the point of providing the snippet of Man's World already in March? Even the label said that new things are coming or something like that. Do you think it's all postponed due to Covid?
-
It is a banger and she should release an HQ version and get the coins that she deserves. Unbelievable how INHA is better than almost a half of FROOT. Can't get over the fact that the best song in her entire career (if not, easily one of) aka Froot was made by herself. I was so shocked when she showed us the demo, like damn, I used to think it was mostly David Kosten's work. I am so glad she's working on her own again.

does anyone of you actually listen to about love? it pops up on spotify all the time, lol i don't know her
-
she's looking like lykke li in that pic. i hope she releases something on her birthday just like with froot. would be cute!
-
Quite laughable how everyone including Marina completely forgot about her collab album.
-
I will not have you not appreciate the best music video of hers ever, less known as Oh No! Theo Hutchcraft Yeah. Imagine how much we would've got if only she had not made the decision "well fuck it".
-
I agree that Cry Baby felt more nature, besides, lyrics were more universal. I got to know Melanie ever since Dollhouse music video dropped, way before Cry Baby was out -- that felt so creative and promising. Unfortunately, I don't really like the direction she took, both stylistically and musically. Don't know why, because I enjoyed a lot even Gingerbread Man and Piggyback.

M has unfollowed Lana on IG. Congratulations, Marina. You compromised yourself once again.

At least True is an easy listening dance track, not cheesy narrative like Life is Strange/To Be Human. Can she finally release something so we can forget about L+F?
-
I actually disagree. Not that L+F was so good, but I assume if it was made by another unknown singer, especially as a debut, we'll see bunch of people claiming her having sooo much potential etc. But it's different when you have a brand new artist trying to make something thought-provocking as To Be Human and when you have a millionaire or whatever Marina right now is who's already written Obsessions, Savages, Immortal, Sex Yeah and the like. Notwithstanding this, HH, Superstar, End of the Earth and Believe in Love are really, really decent.
-
Whatever it was called, the theme was aquatic. These all dots must be connected.
-
She used Aquamarina on her personal Facebook + later she changed her name to Aquamarina on Instagram + the scrapped Handmade Heaven single/album artwork + both Superstar videos (I myself like to interpret water in Superstar as drowning in love).
-
You're right, but I guess we'll never know for sure. The previous concept of Aquamarina actually had no any "meaning" apart from... water? And personally I would've found it more interesting.
-
Yes, that is exactly true and I know it, but at the same time I feel kinda sorry for Marina. The fact she said that Love+Fear concept was created at the last minute makes me wonder if it was not label or her manager who told her that she needed to make it more 'sophisticated', because otherwise it wouldn't sell so well. However, what I meant people had problems in previous albums too -- many people didn't like Electra Heart because they expected TFJ 2.0 (especially British critics) and so did people not like FROOT. And I did not mean to attack Charli, it's just there's some weird aura with Marina's discography.
-
Charli can basically sing about partying and both critics and fans will praise her. Marina can sing about politics, psychology and things like that, and critics and fans will slander her no matter what, just because of high expectations or stylistic comparisons to previous records. That's that on that.
-
I really hope she releases these gems very soon... before she changes her mind or something.
-
By the way, the same means her middle name, Lambrini.
-
Hold your horses. Electra complex is not a sophisticated, niche term in psychology, but also is not common knowledge. I actually find Marina's references to Greek mythology very intriguing, and I really wish she explored this theme in more depth and explained the parallels between Greek tragedy and Hollywood that she has found.
-
Wow, Jack being ugly, ruining her career, and now being an asshole? I'll cringe listening to End of the Earth now.
-
I hope she recovers from it as fast as possible. A good thing is she doesn't have any health problems, otherwise she would've written something about. Now let me tell you my opinion on the non-singles of the album. Super Duper Party and Life of the Party are just genius. This dark experimental electro sound, absolutely magnifique. The rest, however, feels kinda bland. Not that it's bad, I just don't 'feel' it. I hope it'll grown on me later.
-
I reckon you're exaggerating a little. The new snippet, although sounds promising and beautiful, is no different than any random fragment of Handmade Heaven.

How can you hate Girls the feminist anthem?

Our baby TFJ turns 10 today. Say what you wanna say, but this album for sure is the one she put the most effort into.
