I know she said it's a simpler album, but I really hope it's profound and has a great and beautiful concept. Ocean Blvd was imo a triumphant artistic re-peak, so I wouldn't want her to take a drastically simpler route with this one tbh. She's been through a lot these past four years, I'm sure she has a lot to say...

if the album is simple, then the focus should be on melodies and/or arrangements.

February - June was incredible

I still watch the Porto one. Also Reading and Leeds. Coachella Night 1 only for how much of a monumental moment it was for her; the intro, the looks, the stage all that but the delivery itself felt hollow to me, it lacked the confidence and energy she had on later shows. Photoshoot of the Year goes to the "I Love Sluts" one. It was super stylish and cool. Leak of the Year... obviously Zodiac.

Sweet was the first non-single that I got obsessed with. I just could not believe the beauty, and how a lot of people just didn't see it. It's an amazing and as you said important love song.

This is such a great thread!! As for what others said-- She does sound fried in American (the whole song could use some bass) but the song is just so good... Wildflower Wildfire is one of her worst songs in terms of production, and I can't believe some people still want her to work with that Mike dude again. The outro in particular is horrible. Fishtail is meant to sound muffled due to the swamp/humid imagery, but as a Jack apologizer I do have to admit the real demon is Laura. Which leads me to Kintsugi, one of the very best songs from Ocean Blvd, if only it wasn't such a terrible recording/mixing. The album actually features many of her best vocal recordings ever, but this one sticks out like a sore thumb. Lust for Life is probably her worst mixing, mostly because of the vocals. And also Blue Banisters, although I do enjoy the roughness of some of the songs. West Coast is her best ever in terms of engineering imo.
