  1. Technically everything from 2011 and before is a “Born to Die” outtake. I wonder if there are more old songs that Emilie and Jeff reworked to fit the rest of the songs though.
  2. BOZ is basing his info mostly on metadata from tracks though. So most of this, while based on some details/facts, is still speculation.
  3. She privatized the video shortly after that recording session in January.
  4. yup Many of those songs weren't even ready by the time that photo was taken. She probably listed those songs to further work on them and see what would come out of it. She then settled with I Talk to Jesus (at first) and then scrapped it again.
  5. That is not true. They were intertwined since November 2012.
  6. Another theory: She listed songs for possible inclusion in the film and the EP that she thought would fit with Bel Air and Gods & Monsters before settling with I Talk to Jesus before scrapping it from the tracklist.
  7. I don’t believe that to be honest. I think most of the TROPICO tea is inferred from that one picture and song metadata, so nothing that is ACTUALLY confirmed. It definitely wasn’t a coincidence that Lana posted a Bel Air visualizer with a Tropico film teaser in the description AND talked about a Bel Air and Gods & Monsters video both in November 2012 (before the studio notes picture was taken).
  8. TROPICO 1. Old Money 2. Black Beauty 3. Guns And Roses 4. Lake Placid 5. Summertime 6. Melancholia 7. Jesus 8. Pink Champagne 9. Elvis 10. Earthquakes 11. Money & Power 12. Axl Rose 13. Preacher
  9. Oh interesting point! Would make even more sense then…
  10. It would kinda make sense for her to revisit Elvis AND Axl Rose (two laptop demos from 2008) for the 2013 project. Especially cause she was romantically involved with him in 2012.
  11. No… her A just looks weird. The second letter is an x but rather stretched. It’s most likely Axl Rose. TROPICO 1. Old Money 2. Black Beauty 3. Guns And Roses 4. Lake Placid 5. Summertime 6. Melancholia 7. Jesus 8. Pink Champagne 9. Elvis 10. Earthquakes 11. Nectar Of The Gods 12. Axl Rose 13. Preacher
  12. Most likely not. We know she uses "working titles" for albums that, in her mind, capture the vibe or the meaning of the project at that time. White Hot Forever, Rock Candy Sweet, etc. Tropico was never going to be the album's title, because she had already decided to give that name to the short film she was preparing for 2013. She just used it because she felt the concept she had in mind at that time matched the project she was working on.
  13. If the LDR Album Process Discussion thread is too long for you: In January 2013 Lana was photographed with Rick Nowels while recording songs for her sophomore album. Her notebook had a list of songs on the side of it with an underlined working title, "Tropico" at the top. During an interview in November 2012 she mentioned that Cola would be the second single from Paradise and that she really hopes to release short films for Gods & Monsters and Bel Air. What's weird is, that the visualizer for Bel Air released in November 2012 had this in the description: "i lost my reputation, i forgot my truth. But i have my beauty and i have my youth. Tropico the film, coming next year." That leads us to conclude that TROPICO was really just a placeholder name for the then unnamed project but it might be linked conceptually to the stuff she was recording at that time, knowing how Tropico had strong biblical and spiritual imagery. This is the track list: Tropico Old Money Black Beauty Guns & Roses Lake Placid Summertime Melancholia Jesus Pink Champagne Elvis Earthquakes ? Axl Rose ?
  14. Now...who do we think is responsible for the slay that is the DICWB 2014 rework? King Rick?
  15. @That Venice Bitch oop I guess I was right.
  16. My current playlist of Outtakes that I feel make a somewhat nice album together: Angels Forever, Forever Angels I Talk to Jesus - TL Demo (Final Version2) Cult Leader Your Girl - PW Rough Mix (Will be replaced once the other version leaks) Ave Maria Dragonslayer Living Legend Nectar of the Gods Unidentified Flying Bill Wild One Yes to Heaven - JF Version Fine China - JF Version Life Is Still Beautiful - 2012 Mix Old Money - Demo Cherry Blossom Lake Placid Pink Champagne Bonus: Summertime I wanted the cover to look like a vintage movie poster...not sure if it fits the vibe of the songs but that's the one I'm using for now (until I change my mind again).
  17. Okay I need your help guys...Am I getting this right? 2012 2013 2014 2015 Where do these songs belong??? Summertime Madly What's a Girl to Do
  18. It's really just a demo assembly of previously recorded material that she probably planned to rework anyway. Maybe the title "TROPICO" was just a placeholder and nothing to be taken seriously.
  19. Is the Old Money demo that leaked from late 2012 or early 2013?
  20. So, the James Ford Mixes of Fine China & Yes to Heaven...what year are they from? Were they done for possible inclusion on UV or HM?
