Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the endI’ll never look upon this thread, again
it’s been wild, COCC prerelease thread.

Also I don’t mean to be insensitive, but the actor didn’t die in a way that was shocking like some of the other examples listed—he wasn’t a victim of murder/brutality; he died peacefully with his family after a long battle with cancer. There’s no reason for a Lana release to be insensitive imo...

That’s whack, Gaga released that album in the middle of a pandemic + BLM protests and no one batted an eye. Lana shouldn’t push her plans back just bc an actor died 30 minutes before her release. RIP ofc

Really a long run as PM. I thought he would stay until next year until after the Olympics concluded.
His term was slated to end in Sept. 2021

There will likely be an interim leader until a general election can be called soon

Ya it is, bc I don’t think nominees should know before the ceremony they’re gonna win (and def shouldn’t allow anyone to publicize it?)

Lana's hairdresser posted a pic of her w the caption "3 days and 4 midnights" (which is midnight tonight) and hashtagged Chemtrails Over The Country Club. User @IanadeIrey theorized that she could surprise release the album/single on Saturday night, as it ties in with her "Question for the Culture" letter + her notorious performance at SNL 8 years ago (I recommend going back and reading their full post, it is one of the most insightful analysis I've seen in awhile). Jack Antoff (her producer) has repeatedly been tweeting "Take the sadness out of Saturday Night".

But he told me that the physical releases (LP and CDs) are still slated for release on October 2nd (We hadn’t heard that date before!!) so this means we will definitely get the album before then!!!!!!!! Omfg im so excited
So we’ll have COCC in our ears before we have COCC in our hands. -
Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan will resign due to ill health. Serving eight consecutive years, he is the country’s longest ruling leader.

Hard to say, she hasn't had a physical noun in her album titles since "Paradise" (which I suppose you could say was visually represented in the cover and in Tropico)

Idk if anyone other than me checks this thread but, just to keep everything up to date:
As the RNC heads into its final night, Trump closes in on Biden in betting markets—over fears that Postal Ballots will not be properly counted for.
The GOP has refused to write a new party platform—instead using the 2016 platform.
Trump has vowed to defund mail-in-voting because he believes it will lead to election rigging at a massive scale.SpoilerThere goes my dreams of moving back to the US, if Trump wins...

Who knew when an artist gets pregnant their art evolves into something so shallow and uninspired. Or perhaps that just happens when singers start trying to write their own music when they originally didn’t.
I wish she’d go back to the alt-rock sound she started out with. OOTB is one of the best pop albums of the 00s, and she wrote a handful of those tracks completely by herself (including her magnum opus: Thinking Of You)...
Ever since she switched to a more electronic/modern sound (to compete with Gaga?) her writing quality as drastically fallen. NRO is the only thing she’s released post-Teenage Dream that can even touch her earlier works; and it’s sad because I think she could deliver another really great OOTB style album

The more albums that get released in 2020, the more it becomes clearer that Taylor is truly at the top of her game. She's miles ahead of everyone else sonically and lyrical--and tbh i think its because of her close relationship with her fans. She doesn't really write about her own celebrity-world troubles in her music, she writes them from the perspective of her average teenage fans, who share stories with her and she listens; and that's what makes her music so universally relatable. Not many of us can relate to living for cheering crowds, or overcoming the confusing world of celebrity--but we can all relate to love triangles, high school drama, drifting apart from our childhood friends, etc. etc. And that's why all her music has always been "folklore", bc it captures the common feelings of a group/subculture, and not just Taylor herself
