This is such a good point! It almost makes me wonder if she’s been there in the past few months or so. Her Instagram has been deactivated for a while, but I wonder if Del Norte County (assuming that’s the acronym) has cropped up in any of her previous posts Then again, maybe it’s a “Venice Bitch” situation where it may not necessarily be centered around a specific memory there…if that makes any sense lol

I know we don’t have a ton to go on, but a week ago, I wouldn’t have thought the thread would be at this point for a few months! Something is brewing

As a side-note, I don’t think DNC is related to the Harry Nilsson cover. I went through his entire discography available on Wiki, and there’s not a single song with those letters in the title!

Ok, my hype has returned. I definitely think DNC is important. If we don’t hear anything from a verified insider, I’ll assume it’s album- or (at the very least) poetry-related..hopefully lol

For anyone with an ATRL account, does this person saying DNC is unrelated seem like an actual insider? Like do you think they’ve ever leaked something original before others?

are there any insiders that would fact-check this? Like is eclipse still on here or?

I’m not sure what to think..I’ve never heard of him in my life, but it’s still a pretty bold, assured statement to make. With the record this early in the making, I’m skeptical whether insiders would actually know this much already, but who knows. I find it interesting that Paul Salem would be so quiet about DNC’s meaning if it didn’t relate to an album, but I dunno..maybe it’s her poetry? I’m just unsure how much sense it would make to get a jacket like that with a poem title abbreviation on it..hmm

I firmly believe this thread will transition into a pre-pre-release thread soon, but don’t quote me on it Paul Salem’s comment has me thinking we’ll get something solid (even if just a little tidbit of info) in the next few months. Paul works hard, but the gays work harder A gay will eventually notice something—maybe a post from her hair stylist or Byron or a random comment “like” from Paul himself. I think that’s definitely possible, and the same goes for her Yosemite shirt she wore in the past as well! If it stands for Del Norte County and is related to one of her projects that Salem seems to hint at, I wonder if Del Norte County is the entire title..or if it’s a Venice Bitch situation to where there’s more to the title than just “Venice.” Del Norte County Chick incoming

Okay, Paul Salem’s nondisclosure surrounding the DNC jacket really makes me think it’s a nod to a song title. I suppose a hint at the record’s title or even an individual lyric is just as possible This would explain why Paul Salem acknowledges that DNC could appear in future merch with, “Oh, it might!” since Lana loves to use song titles/lyrics for merch text. even being open to this idea shows it could be significant to her artistry! Also, many felt that the jacket didn’t match her outfit, and maybe she was aware of this. I know she isn’t Taylor Swift in terms of Easter eggs, but I feel this could have been an intentional, glaring hint???? The only other possibility I could see is something related to her upcoming poetry or the covers record, but I don’t know if it makes complete sense to get a jacket made for those two. Edit: Then again, if DNC is related to the covers album, maybe the covers record will indeed be a cohesive, full-blown era of sorts. If it’s related to her poetry, I guess it could be a poem title abbreviation! What do you all think?

If LDR9 ends up being country, the only feature I can think of wanting (currently) is Dolly Parton. Country isn’t my ideal genre, but I think the two would mesh really well, especially in a track with a story-telling direction

I’ve definitely been thinking this as well. I’m somewhat hesitant when things leak these days strictly because I know there’s a good chance it’s related to a future album. I fully anticipated French Restaurant to make an appearance on Blue Banisters, so I would be shocked if it crops up later. UFB would’ve fit well on BB too imo.

If Mike Dean produces LDR9, I’d love something in the vein of You & Me with more lyrical depth and synth additions I personally consider it one of her most underrated unreleased tracks ever

I hope Lana revives the Honeymoon Hotline at some point—I think it would be so cute if she updated it from American for LDR9
