  1. I’m personally more inclined to believe Eclipse and Boz, honestly. No shade at all to honeymoun, but iirc, Boz & Eclipse are better known as actual insiders as opposed to just more leaker-oriented accounts Also, insiders going on the record to say she’s going in a new/better direction when her past 3 records have been very organic is a big claim that they must be confident in. After the false release date for BB, I would imagine that insiders (I can’t remember which) are being more careful in terms of their reputations for being reliable That being said, I definitely think a new sound is coming! Could it be very similar to NFR? Sure, but I personally think we’re getting something a bit more novel and less stripped back even if it’s in the same vein as NFR!
  2. truthfully never heard of this artist before, but I’m definitely going to look more into them—such a pretty song and really reminiscent of Cat Power!!
  3. This isn’t really specific to the album art, but I’d love if BRTHR (the COCC video director duo) worked with Lana again. The video was gorgeous & trippy, stitched together the many multitudes of Lana’s artistry, and (in my opinion) made for a really stimulating music video experience. The song was already beautiful, and I think the video really elevated the track in a meaningful way which isn’t super common in the industry lately
  4. in light of the lyric tease from Boz… manifesting summery vinyl vibes for LDR9: overly saturated sunsets, newly-dug swimming pools, rock candy lenses, and sun-baked beaches
  5. I’m interested to see whether we’ll get the proposed FJM collab or the “rock candy” single first The FJM track is rumored to be released in February, but people already have access to the lyrics of the “rock candy” song, so maybe it could go either way slso I’m like…weirdly more hyped for LDR9 than I was for BB, and I was really excited for BB. I don’t really trust gut feelings, but I still have a very, very good one about this upcoming
  6. Also, have we had anything confirming that the unheard track is NOT related to the covers record? Part of me is doubtful that Boz would praise a cover that heavily, so I’m thinking this should be LDR9-related, right?
  7. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a MAC/VB situation in which we get a hype-building single far from the record’s release. That being said, this incoming track could be a little preview of LDR9! Maybe I’m reaching, but it seems possible!
  8. Video Games vs Venice Bitch
  9. I never thought we’d get a Bruce Springsteen AND a Slowdive cover, yet here we are
  10. Oh Say Can You See For me, it’s the embodiment of walking through a city at night & it being cold enough to see your breath—a hoodie-wearing track imo
  11. Omg the album is gorgeous my favorite is Track 21: a 10-minute, jazzy synth rendition of Blue by Joni Mitchell
  12. I may have already done yours with a different song, but.. Black Bathing Suit!
  13. Winter, I think. It’s going to be around 80°F (or ~27°C) on Christmas…which isn’t cold, but it’s still significantly better than the awful summer heat here. It’s nice to have a break from the hot weather lol What’s your favorite instrumental or orchestral piece and why?
  14. I’ve been wanting Lana to do something like this for SO LONG—this specific song reminds me of Burnt Norton - Interlude and Venice Bitch. A dream!!
  15. LDR9’s Mike-Dean-Produced Synthy Autotune Talk-Box Magnum Opus confirmed!!
  16. that’s so neat! I really would have assumed the sound at the end of TJF was just a vocal effect, but him using a mellotron to mimic it is honestly really impressive!
  17. Wait, was TJF the mellotron autotune or Venice Bitch? Either way, that’s so interesting!
  18. While I love her raw vocals, I think using autotune as a stylistic choice can be really cool I know it’s controversial, but I LOVED Tulsa Jesus Freak’s autotune—a lot of Jack’s work utilized a similar effect with the instruments (like the electronic bit in Venice Bitch), and it was neat seeing him use Lana’s voice for it instead!
  19. It would be pretty interesting, honestly—though I’ll admit it’s definitely one of the not-so-easily-discernible pieces…then again, Lana loves obscure references that only she understands. While the “end of the world” interpretation of the text is disputed, I wouldn’t be too shocked if she went this route. Lately, she seems to love peppering in little apocalyptic omens amid religious allusions, so who knows! It’s tough to imagine her going fully conceptual for a record in that manner, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if she ever decided to integrate themes of it in her music!
  20. twitter would have a field day…someone warn her
  21. this is making me realize I don't know the faces of most people on this site & that I just imagine them as their Lana photos.. also thank you lol
  22. Manifesting “shake that ass, baby” from the How To Disappear session vibes for LDR9 (hopefully someone knows what I’m referencing lol)
  23. omg literally same and back to you!!! You deserve a slam dunk for the positive categories imo
  24. I honestly could see this happening but probably a bit more sonically cohesive and mature…probably (and hopefully imo) fewer collabs, too If she does a more lighthearted, carefree album with surf & pop undertones, I could see her doing something like a combination of Get Free x FIILY x Groupie Love x Doin’ Time
  25. Also, I really hope Boz pulls through with an acronym or some cryptic description for the soundscape. I love when we extrapolate on scraps of info (which are sometimes correct)!!
