Waist Deep In Icy Waves is such a great title/lyric I'd be sad if it ends up just being a caption cause the water was cold (which probably was the case) But since the album wasn't done maybe she was inspired by her kitty freezing and she wrote a song around that caption

So I guess the Lana hype did its work after all... 3rd highest debut of all time in Spotify and it was the third most streamed song on the album (being the 4th track also helped I guess since some people probably didn't get through the whole thing)

I find the last 3 albums different enough but even if they share a common and more stripped down sound/theme they were released in the span of just 3 years... a tiny fraction of Lana's career, it's not like she spent a whole decade releasing the same stuff. And we don't know what's coming next year or even what she'll be releasing ten years from now. I agree that the vibe pre and post NFR has really changed but it's clear that she still likes to have some fun with the music either with more upbeat moments or more "experimental" suff (VB, Cinnamon Girl, FIILY, Doin Time, TJF which was even the title track at one point, Dealer, The Trio, BBS...). I get why some people don't prefer the lastest albums but it's not really just piano ballads. Also her first songs were acoustic with minimal production, that sound is also part of Lana as an artist it's not like she started out as a popstar

His last "soon" was less than a month ago so while it may have slowed things down I don't think it altered the timeline that much. She was probably really upset for some days and stopped working on everything for a while but since the original files are in her producers hands I don't think she lost the music...

I'm just happy the album is done (if it was about her) cause I don't really care about his taste since it doesn't really align with mine... That said, I think positive opinions tend to be more accurate than negative ones (of course taste is subjective anyway) cause insiders tend to basically hate everything that's not about their faves
