I never thought I'd say I want the weekend to be over but I need Wednesday to be NOW

I really like the past 2 albums sonically but I missed having real "eras" (even though Lana probably doesn't treat her album cycles like big events). She seems so excited teasing little things like posting that Neil picture I don't remember the last time she was like that regarding her releases, she used to just either post a random date or 10 snippets in her car so it's really interesting

All I listen to lately by Lana are her 2021 albums and Honeymoon... if I hear a drum I might collapse Imagine something like the Lucky Ones Demo... I'd die

The fact that is varied in sound but not like LFL is so interesting... cause LFL had some "classic Lana with a twist " (like 13 beaches, Heroin, Get Free, Cherry), the hiphop tracks and then the folk. UV was also pretty varied even if the general vibe was uniform throughout. We had a lot of electric guitar but also songs like the title track, Brooklyn Baby, Sad Girl, Old Money etc so maybe it's that kind of "variety" (as in a clear concept but with a broader soundscape, I don't mean that it's going to sound like UV of course). I also expect it to sound completely different from everything from his wording (unless the variety comes from picking some elements of different albums which since those are her albums it also makes sense to self reference even if it's not on purpose )

None but if I have to choose I guess either Crazy For You cause it sounds so good from what we have or LYTAN since it would be like having a new song anyway

Makes sense considering the only confirmed collab already spoiled it themselves

Someone (maybe whore or dollie) said there was going to be a female collab too and while I don't trust them it made me think... who do you think it would be (realistically) in the hypothetical - non insider related - case there was a collab? Like a male collab being FJM was an easy guess and made so much sense but for female collabs I'm not sure... If it was Nikki they would have already sang it in some random bar and it looks like the Kali collab never happened in the end... so I guess Zella or Weyes could make sense or even Rosalia since she (for some reason) followed Benny too I prefer no collabs in her records but it's fun to speculate

I'm scared that the announcement is going to be disappointing The fact that they had a concrete date for it makes me think it has to be a big deal but still... our expectations are really high at this point

I'm with you on that. I'd prefer a 100% unheard song and leave Rockefeller to surprise me on the album when I hear it in full (we'll probably know the title when the album is close via shazam tho)

Side project too (same as if she ever releases a joint album or a full soundtrack for a film/play)

Yeah I think so. It would be weird (and sad ) to just announce a teaser for something coming next year

I think depending on what's the announcement she'll post one or two days before either a snippet (if it's just a single) or the album cover (if it's the preorder) so we'll kinda know beforehand

I think she exaggerated the whole automatic singing, no color thing. She tends to describe her records using elements from just a couple of songs

It's complicated. It is a Lana album but it's not a Lana music album with songs the same as her other albums are. I consider it a side project (just cause it's not part of her main catalogue and a different artistic expression, not cause I think it's less relevant or inferior). They have music but they are not songs basically. Also the audiobook is just a collection of some of the poems so it's not even the whole thing I didn't think about that no more numbers cause we'll have the actual title

I want a little teaser every day leading to the announcement. Like a tiny Lana advent calendar

Yeah that's why I'm not sure they'll announce everything now since that would mean a longer preorder and she doesn't usually do that (but from a financial point of view it should be better right? More time for potential sales) This era seems different from all the previous ones tho so who knows what they actually have in store this time

I think it could happen. BB preorder was only 1 and a half months and Chemtrails had 2 months so if the album is coming in February-March I can see them announcing everything now even if the wait would be a bit longer... the only thing is that I'd find weird that she'll reveal everything without having a single out since she always puts out at least 1 song before the formal album announcement We also may be getting only a single and a preorder announcement for January with the album in March (basically like Chemtrails)

Verve Records. It's apparently a jazz label (Nina Simone was signed there at some point too). But I guess that's only relevant for his own work, if he's producing for Lana the label is probably not involved (since it would be released under Polydor/Interscope)
