The alleged Tag, You're It flashback song is fanon. That was a completely unrelated rumour someone added to Melanie's Wiki page in 2017, which never had any actual basis to it. However! Erase Her is real — and it's leaking soon, so don't worry about that. The song is about police racial bias in missing peoples cases: "Who cares if she don't look like you? Karma will come back to eat you Why does she have to be white to be seen as a fucking equal? You erase her, the radio news and the paper!" Sessions for K-12— the original, standard album— started out in late 2015 and were confirmed to have been completed in very early 2017. Following this, she kept writing more songs (Erase Her/Trophy/Notebook all date back to around June of 2017 I believe) for a planned "deluxe," and so this eventually turned into the After School EP. Melanie's own wording:
-
I am your mother … you listen to me …
-
'Peach' isn't anything significant — it was only the placeholder name they used while working on Portals stuff, to keep the actual title in secrecy before its announcement. Similar thing happened with Mad Hatter's music video ('Banana Well') and K-12 ('Soup + Salad') Some of the photos, videos etc were tagged like that too

No we need more more more… she recorded so much

She was falsely accused, someone set her up and so bored + starved Cry Babies on TikTok ran with it

Warner/Atlantic needs to pick better people to send snippets to, because what on earth is this person doing

Just saw the silliest TikTok: "Did you know Portals originally had this aesthetic?" followed by a ton of fanmade edits, mixed in with random Instagram photos and calendar pictures (as if Melanie hadn't shown herself sketching a pink four-eyed character in 2018!) But it got worse... "The album was originally revolved around medieval dynastys & folktales". The literal fanfiction being spread around as fact some of these Twitter and TikTok stans are really a different breed

“I’m Like That” was written by multi-platinum producer CJ Baran, Catherine Grace Garner aka SLAYYYTER and Marikah Baran (Voice of CUDDLES). The song began as an orphan demo CJ and Catherine made in 2019. Once CJ and Marikah created CUDDLES with CG Artist Nicolas Brunet, they knew with some re-writing, it could be the perfect track for this mall goth stuffed animal cat with abandonment issues. The main elements of the track are the chopped and screwed Gregorian choir sample, the SH-2 synth bass and an 808 kit with some hair metal inspired guitars in the post chorus’. Dark fairytale gone hip hop at the rock show. https://www.sound.xyz/cuddles/im-like-that

February 28 is the day these "egg snippets" were made. That date also shows on the original snippet files of Spider Web, Void, etc.

Meghan Trainor says she dedicates her new track "Mother" to fellow songstress Melanie Martinez, who "emerged from the mother lake." "The song was inspired by her, I've been starstruck ever since I heard Void (snippet). I really can't wait for PORTALS. She sings, and I listen to her," she explains.
