Steubenville, Ohio Rape Case [TW: Rape and Rape Culture]
FREEDOM replied to foxgrl's topic in World News
there hasn't been any coverage of this in the U.K. apart from online, but i basically think that the two guys who assaulted her should be put into rehab for a long time, maybe 1 or 2 years. What they did was sick, but they are still only 16/17 (?) and still impressionable with the right help they can become 'better' and fully functional members of society. This case is highlighting a flaw in the education kids receive and is further supporting the notion of 'rape culture'. Rape is still such a taboo subject to be taught at school and instead of just throwing people into jail and carrying on, schools should be made to teach about not committing the act in the first place. i don't know this is just my opinion. -
AHAHAHAHAHA!! i couldn't stay away, i'm just reading all the shit i've missed.
-

I recommended this guy i know to listen to AKA lizzy grant, he first said this: then later when i saw him, he said that the music was 'a bit chaotic' and 'raw' which is 'rare to find now'. he preferred it over BTD and said if she makes anymore music like AKALG then he'd buy it. what i found interesting is that he doesn't listen to any other music similar to BTD or AKALG, he mainly listens to hip hop and r&b. info on the guy: he's 19 and your average joe. If you want can i ask him some q's.

oh i understand, but the catholic church isn't against homosexuals unless your having gay sex, also the church doesn't threaten those who do undertake in premarital sex and homosexuality with excommunication, i'm sure there are christian masons, but i don't believe someone who is a practicing catholic would be in a society against the church and also be under threat from being thrown out of the church. I'd also like to be clear that when i talk about catholics i'm talking only about them not the whole of christianity.
-
i was talking about catholics not the whole of christianity. the bold bit kinda offended me, i don't spend my time watching those kind of videos and i don't claim to know everything but i do know some things from being bored and researching, that post was condescending. edit: also the bavarian illuminati was founded in the 18th century. to all of the above who said catholics are masons, yes there may be some but they are not practicing, but since the second vatican concil there has been a BAN on catholics in freemasonary. If you need more evidence, cardinal seper in 1981 wrote a letter clarifying that the CATHOLIC church is against any masonic socities, it said the traditional prohibitations and penalties still stand, one of the penalties was excommunication from the church. In 1983 'declaratio de associationibus massonici' declared by the congregation for the doctrine of the faith repeated the prohibition of Catholics from joining masonic socities. So i repeat again you guys are wrong, the catholic church is against freemasons, before you shoot me down again hows about you read more...done.
-
to answer your question she's catholic so no - the church is against any forms of masonic societies.
-
LOL how would you know? Edit: oh god that read a bit rude, what i meant is how would you know that no one knows about the Illuminati, i am more than happy to have an in depth discussion about them and many other organisations with you.

yes a lot of people go to the us to get 'famous' as their are a lot of record labels situated in america. AND MOTHER OF GOD what you just said about adele is completely wrong, she became famous because talent explodes from her, the media was crazy in europe and here in Britain before the us - next you'll be saying amy winehouse was famous due to the us. And of course it's easier to be an artist if you speak english due to english being the universal language atm. What i'm trying to say is that i disagree with what you said about north america having the biggest market and how music revolves around it, because statistics show otherwise. I'm done.
-
^this is what i'm trying to get at, the music market doesn't turn around north america anymore. America still has a strong influence over it just like Asia and Europe, but people don't look at it as the only 'leader' in music anymore.
-
there is no 'leader' anymore, in the past it was the states, but since the 2000's there been a big shift in music. the us doesn't have the biggest value market anymore, japan in 2010 over took it by something like 400 million dollars.
-
ermmm....how is that factually wrong? please explain, because if ya haven't realised the usa doesn't lead the world in music anymore..

i dislike gaga, i would never say hate - and the majority of people wouldn't say hate. I should be clearer i dislike lady gaga's music it's just not for me, saying that I know she is very talented and her music is good. As for who she is as a person- i'm apathetic, i don't know who she is as a person, i've never met or talk to her(obvs), therefore i just don't have an opinion on 'her'.
-
i take back what i said 'i personally don't care for gaga' that was a lie, i like her in this:
-
have no idea why they took this scene out of the film, i thought it was so good.
-
ahahaha daisy was...hmm...different, but she was played by brittany murphy wish she was still alive!
-
This needs an appreciation thread because it just does. I have been obsessed with the film and book since i can remember. has anyone else watched the film or have read the book? I need to discuss IT, also post your favourite scene if you have one. Ice cream palour scene: & Janice "i'm a fucking shrub" scene:
-
pray tell me why chuck/naomi is not a 'good person'...
-
i'm not saying her music isn't good, i personally don't care for gaga, but show me evidence that her music is classy... Definition of classy: Possessing elegance, the attribute of being tastefully designed, decorated and maintaining refined grace and dignified propriety. i should have been clearer, i personally don't think she(herself as a performer) or her music satisfy any of those attributes^
-
does Gaga produce classy music? no.
