I want to do the zodiac signs as BB songs like I did for COCC but I’m terrified this time because the stakes are much higher when everyone loves so many songs 🙃 or maybe lower?? I feel more pressure but if nearly every song is beloved people would be happy no matter what I choose haha

The lyrics on VFR are some the best but I am also someone who would rank it low on my BB faves (although I do like it and it’s growing on me daily) - but only because I love her soaring, complex melodies and this is one that doesn’t dance across the keys as much, the melody is more constant across a few notes at the chorus. I would bet the people who rank it low feel somewhat similar—my theory is: if you would rank songs like Guns and Roses and Black Beauty (similar stagnant melody structure) lower, you would probably not pick VFR as a favorite either—same for vice versa, if you enjoy those a lot you’d love VFR… anyone agree?

Love it! That makes sense. I listen to Honeymoon the most at bedtime because it makes me feel serene I secretly love LFL and listen to my favorite songs from it a lot but don’t discuss it much because LFL lovers get trashed

The way that BB has only been out for 2 days but has already passed my streams of BTD-P in my all-time Last.Fm listens (includes all my streams of the tringles & Arcadia pre-release which gave it a huge boost since I’ve only been scrobbling since 2017)! now my streaming order, most to least, is below—which is oddly different than I would personally rank her records from best to least best (cause they’re all beauties!): NFR Chemtrails LFL Honeymoon UV BB BTD-P what’s the order of your most to least listened Lana albums?

A recap for everyone on what she said about the covers album: She said she’s toying with the idea of covers & country and calling it “Country & Western” - like country and west coast/California covers! She didn’t give a date tho but said the fact that she loves Harry Nilsson (she was listening to him when it started) would be important to know later this year…

I am obviously just a little bit obsessed with Thunder since the unreleased version 🙃 I was terrified I wouldn’t love the released one as much or more than the unreleased version but I DO!!! I think the new swelling strings and instrumentation are more cinematic—it helps you actually picture the scene she is talking about. It feels like it could be in a coming-of-age movie when you realize a relationship with someone is ending—at a party, you glance over at them laughing with friends and thinking how you can’t remember the last time you saw them laugh or light up like that around only you. It’s heartbreaking and lends so much power to the song. I am so grateful. I have it on repeat

JUST FINISHED WHOA!!! There is so much to unpack and relisten to!!! I started crying as soon as I got to BBS big Tori Amos vibes! AND DEALER OMG?!?!!?!!!!!!! A career highlight, she should sing like that more!!!! Thunder is still perfect and somehow even more beautiful, cried then too. Wow, I am so moved. I need to listen again to BBS, IYLDWM, Beautiful, & VFR because I actually felt they were so different for her. This album is EXTREMELY different from NFR and COCC to me and I’m grateful for that, you can hear so much growth and I can’t wait to listen 80000 more times! I hope everyone else is loving it too!!!
