I’m all here for expanding the atmospheric sound of the BB title track into dream pop territory—a Yes to Heaven vibe (like quieter Fleetwood Mac Tango in the Night dreamy instrumentals; reverbed guitars and airy synths) with spicy sprinkles of trip-hop a lá Dark But Just a Game. (otherwise just more rock/screaming Lana, my standing request)

SHE REALLY TOOK THE CROWN JEWEL OF HER CATALOG & MADE IT AN IMPOSSIBLE 10X BETTER?! SOMEHOW?!!!! I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS?! the new phrasing & production are just sheer perfection & all the new details she’s sharing with us just-😭 - I really love Red TV — It allows us to go so much deeper and get way more diaristic details about a pivotal year of heartbreak in her life. The new production is so detailed and clear. The rock songs I loved are rockier, the folksy heartbreak ballads even more crisp and biting. I love the singles even more than I used to, even though I play those least that’s about to change! The 10-minute version of All Too Well is her best song. The Phoebe collab! Synthpop vault tracks!! I have so many emotions!!!!

This is not about any artist in particular, but I have trouble getting into the catalog of any artist who doesn’t write their own music, or who you can tell contributed one small thing and got a writing credit. I know pop stars aren’t required to write music, that they are performers, but for me, it dampens the quality of how genuinely and powerfully the art speaks to me. I don’t want to just dance around to a song, I want to FEEL IT IN MY BONES AND CRY (I have a scorpio moon, if it wasn’t obvious)

I think it means that all of the think pieces on whether or not she is genuine or whatever the media wants to say has been free publicity for her very successful music. The criticism she received early on only got BTD more attention and it’s STILL CHARTING nearly a decade later. “your interest really made stacks out of it for me” = you being interested in ruthlessly questioning (and attacking) my identity and my art only made me more money, so thanks for that 😇

I would love this! I kind of doubt it will happen but I’ve been craving a tasteful, dreamy 80s synth soft-rock record from her, something like Tango in the Night by Fleetwood Mac. I want YTH to be released sooooo bad—I know it’s not lyrically one of her strongest but the melody and the background instrumental is other-worldly!

I loved that she said this she was so genuine about it too, I think that’s why she doesn’t seem super heavily involved in the merch, because she doesn’t even want people to feel pressured to buy it. I’m sure the label/her managers push her to engage. She truly is just about the music
