My only complaint about it is that while I love Weyes and Zella I'd prefer if Lana was singing the whole time and they only did some harmonies... but I guess it was cute and made sense to had them there after singing it on tour various times together 

Chemtrails Over the Country Club is the record of Lana’s that I relate to most closely, even if it’s about fame. The sentiments of wishing for simplicity and normalcy despite achieving success is something I think many people can relate to. It’s such a poignant record that is thematically essential to who Lana is, and I wish more listeners gave it the time of day. 

I love Chemtrails, and Tulsa Jesus Freak ranks relatively low for me. I've come to value this album as a story of dealing with burnout--the desire to run away and start over, to do your profession out of the love of it.
Blue Banisters flopped for me. It was pretty but it was just a collection of songs, and it's unfortunate that it was her latest release because I haven't been revisiting her work as much as a result, and I'm scared for what her next release might bring.

The superior 2021 Lana album

If she wants to complain about how she was treated early in her career, I think that's fine. I mean she was treated awfully and even when I read reviews praising NFR, critics always have to find a way to put down BTD. However, I think she's so hyper focused on this she fails to take accountability for other things, like the QFTC. I cringe whenever she goes after people in BB, because she needs to acknowledge that her actions caused her to get "cancelled."

Re: The underdog angle
 
My own possibly unpopulary opinion is, that while I strongly agree that the initial backlash wasn't planned and  must have been very traumatizing, she lacks self awareness as to how it comes off when she pulls out the "I'm the underdog"-trope again and again years later now that she's litterally a rich, succesful, critically acclaimed celebrity singer who most critics would agree has had significant impact on pop culture. Like...what more do you want girl? A statue? It gets especially aggrevating when she uses it as a shield against any kind of criticism, like when she went on her Insta-rants a few years back. 
 
At the end of the day she is only human. I can't blame her for being stuck on that, I would probably be the same way to be honest. Unlike us, Lana doesn't have the luxury of analyzing her own life from the outside and making coolheaded decisions about how to feel about trauma that happened to her depending on what looks best to the public. We're all the protagonists in our own stories. But I sometimes wish that she had a good PR manager who would tell her to go easy on that angle. But then again she wouldn't be Lana.   

To me, Honeymoon was the last great (and the greatest) thing we got from her. The later releases don't hit the note for me but there are songs I like and I adore her nevertheless. It's just my personal opinion. I miss those days my past is not something I like to remember, but what I'd give to go back to 2012-2015 to listen to that music for the first time again... ♥️ Still got a Lust For Life tattoo on my body anyways.

I didn’t see NFR! as a ‘somewhat radical change,’ but as a blander version of her previous catalog and a capitulation to the critics. 

the thing about the country album: Lana is pretty ironic and she knows a lot of us don’t like Nikki Lane or even her most country-ish songs so I do actually think this some time of joke meaning: or the album will be completely opposite of country or she will actually release ldr9 as a full country album and this comment was a way of saying “I really do not fucking care about your opinion, I’m doing my shit how I want”

If Lana were to actually do a full country album it would be a serve and a half  People get scared when they hear the word country but I'm sure Lana would channel the classics rather than cheesy country pop and she'd give it her own unique spin the way she always does. I bet her country album would be a huge critical success. 

i'm late but i feel like the only one on here who would actually be very happy with a country album  country instrumentals with lana's lyricism would be golden....

This album is great, but it feels like a ghost. There's no life in it. It's really nice, has great vocals and lyrics but there's a spark that's missing. It's like Hauntya Del Rey possessed a grammaphone and just started transmitted it from the ether. Very October. It's funny that it was almost a summer album. It is very autumnal.

was listening to Honeymoon while getting ready today and tbh I feel like the most likely form for LDR9 to take is Honeymoon 2.0. Maybe something like astrology influence from LFL and Chemtrails eras meets the hazy west coast beach jazz sound from NFR, HM eras..and lyricism from BB, VBBOTG.

Anyways, I just want another 'The Blackest Day' and generally more songs that sound like a Bond Theme.

I'm not really worried about getting another "samey" album (even though I find her last 3 albums different enough) cause she wrote them in a really short span of time (and BB is basically just an EP worth of new stuff considering half of the songs were old).
I don't think she's doing another BTD-UV level of jump this time but I'm confident we're getting something new sonically even if it's a natural progression from BB.
I just know we're in for a treat
