i just get confused by lana because she states so often that she doesn’t do what the critics or public want - yet her last 3 albums seem to be curated with critics in mind (particularly her last 2). not that i don’t like these albums, i love them lots lol. but i’m confused where her inspirations or motives for making albums at the moment is

the only album in her discography that was curated for the critics was Blue Banisters - there are some songs on other albums that do diss them like Brooklyn Baby but Blue Banisters was her revenge. NFR! and Chemtrails were just her having fun and the fact that's she able to have fun again is gonna be an indication that LDR9 is gonna be amazing

it’s not a very good parody then :bebe:

it genuinely seems like they tried and failed to use a sample it doesn’t sound like a parody at all

worked for me! i'm always bopping :hype:

    but it’s not though :bebe:

it has all the parts to a great pop song and it just doesn’t work

tbh it would’ve been better if they just covered cry for you

that's the whole point - it's a parody of the use of sampling by inversing the og sample's message + it's amazing

  6. idk why y'all act like it's gonna be their only collab... Rina even wanted their first collab to be a bop so we could have some fun with it...

honestly it's such a great pop song so what's not clicking? :tommy:

It's definitely gonna be this records location. All of them have one imo (Born To Die is New York or even Coney Island to an extent, Ultraviolence is Brooklyn, Honeymoon is Italy, Lust for Life is L.A, NFR is Laurel Canyon, Chemtrails is Oklahoma/the Midwest in general, and Blue Banisters is Arcadia). I'm excited to see how it plays into the record's aesthetic

it'll surely be interesting to see how she captures San Fran in her vision, also i'd argue NFR is also Long Beach

I left my city for San Francisco
And I'm writing from the Golden Gate Bridge
But it's not going as I planned
I took a free ride off a billionaire and brought my typewriter
And promised myself that I would stay, but
It's just not going the way that I thought
It's not that I feel different, and I don't mind that it's not hot
It's just that I belong to no one, which means there's only one place for me
The city not quite awake, the city not quite asleep
The city that's still deciding how good it can be

this is interesting because this was written two years ago, before she went to the midwest and before QFTC... so what brought her back there?

also keep in mind she frequently drives to san fran she stated that in one interview
