Lana to release new song "Henry, Come On" with Luke Laird - LEAD SINGLE
barttttender replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
So, if OB was finished in September 2023, that means Lana has been cooking up new music for 1 year and 4 months. That's so much time. Again, i dont think we're getting LDR10 this year, but for sure there'll be new songs released. also, i dont think Henry is first-single material. As good as it is, it moves at a glacial pace and all her first singles (aside from BB and let me love you) had some radio-friendly oomph to it. She wouldn't kick off a new era with a yayo-style track my two cente (dont hate me) -

This shoot is an epic slay. Don't think she's looked this hot in about 5 years. Absolute cunty mother's-coming-for-you fucking dragon-sized slayage -

I don't hear BB in Country Roads or Henry. Thank fu*k because I loathe BB. I hear a lot of Yayo and, like, Wild at Heart. Which I'm fine with. Still, I was hoping for another BTD or NFR. Ya know, sth big. -
Pure speculation. They both posted a picture of the Moon at the same time, or something like that. There's zero other proof. But we're all hoping. Also, the Weeknd was "the last person she texted" in that video interview.

This theory makes a lot of sense. Seems to be in her low-key dark folk Leonard Cohen era. Maybe LDR10 will be Chemtrails but even quieter. Like a whole album of Yayos. -

Who cares what they sand or believe in. We know Lana is pro-gay, and that's all that matters. Let's just enjoy the music. 100%. -

So, what are we thinking? Is this a taste of LDR10, or just a random track that Lana's dropping? I'm over her ballads (which I've mentioned once or three zillion times), but I'm liking the sound of this one. Really. -
For sure. December 7th 2022 was when OB's first single was announced. The album was most likely fully produced and completed by then, perhaps only with mastering and other final touches left to be done until end-of-March release date. That means we're over a year since Lana finished her last album. She would typically have an album's worth of songs by now, in addition to hundreds of scraps and unreleased tracks we already know about. I don't necessarily think LDR10 is coming this year, given how productive she's been with her last three albums + solo songs and collabs, but we are most definitely being fed something in Q1 2024, which I'm assuming (and hoping) will be the Weekend collab, followed by a taste of the new record by H2 2023, exactly a year and a half since she finished writing the previous record. She'll probably tease the record this year, and then drop the album early next year.

This is huge. Way above Tyler the creator, Blur, Ice Spice, etc. she's at the height of her success right now. All we need is a grammy -
Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards

I still think best Alternative album is our best bet. -
Her best title is still Norman f-ing Rockwell, though. Followed by Born to Die, and Ultraviolence.
-
lmao. wasn't even a runner up.guess it was an honor just to be nominated.
-
So, when are the awards coming out? I'm kinda hoping to slay that "rudest member" category.
-
yes but what guitar. And what a beat. Also, all the samples and details, it's a little universe in itself. Complements the song thematically so well. Which is why it's critically her best received song since NFR.

For me, Venice Bitch, hands down. There's so much to unpack in that song production wise. It feels like it's been worked on for a year. And stylistically and conceptually, everything blends so well perfectly, you really can't fault it. More than that, at 10 minutes running time, it never gets boring and I've literally heard it a million times, yet it feels fresh each time.

OMG YES! I always wanted a Summer Bummer video in some kind of sexy horror style. Like Lana and Rocky in a haunted house. I think that would've made the song one of her biggest songs and videos.. I just adore that song anyway, it's so fun, and can't believe she missed the opportunity to do another video with hot Rocky (and Payboi). Instead, we got that perplexing video for White Mustang, a song that is nowhere near as hot. So, yeah, she definitely should select her singles and videos better.
-
I'm with you. I was always confused by the people's reaction to Wild at Heart. To me, it's one of Lana's top 20 songs ever. And it shoulda beee the first single imo. But no one cares about that track (#122 on Lana's spotify) . The Greatest, Dark But Just a Game and Thunder all definitely deserve more plays. Especially the Greatest, which is a flat-out masterpiece.
-
She's been a little off with her single selection since NFR. Example: LMLYLAW as the first single. Gurl, what? Example 2: Arcadia... Barely made it to her top 100 most listened songs on Spotify. And then, Blue Banisters isn't even in the top 100. Example 3: Candy Necklace. Love the song. But a single? With a big budget music video. Huh? Let the Light in def woulda been better than The Grands and Candy Necklace. As would Peppers. I would have done: Ocean Boulevard (the title song and a Lana classic) A&W (a banger to remind everyone what she can do) Let the Light In (one of the duets off the record and the most radio-friendly one) Peppers (another little banger)

I read Eileen by that same writer. It was definitely a fun read. Not as good as what Gillian Flynn is doing, though in the same frame of mind somehow.

The Mantis by Kotaro Isaka. Not as hot as Bullet Train, but still fire.

Rudest member? Lmao. Okay, I'll take that. Biggest Lana hater though? Nah. A die-hard fan since 2011. Guess I'm coming across all wrong here. But hey, it's an honor just to be nominated...
