The rollout was not that bad in hindsight. She seemed to be on some sort of temporary deal with Fader at the time (which now seems permanent), they had a release plan & stuck to it. Look at what's happening with Kim Petras & Republic atm. I enjoyed getting a new single every 1-2 months, each had their own take on relationships & heartbreak, and each offered a new visual (minus Over This).

It's been over a year since her first single, I'm convinced her music project has been scrapped (hence the leaks). It's a shame, Radio & IGIB are such cute pop gems, if she got a deal with Interscope or somewhere she could've pushed them

No one knows. White Mercedes was confirmed as a droplet by Eclipse (later included on XCX3), but I feel that would've been the white colour shoot she did (which hasn't leaked yet). I've heard Come To My Party was reworked early 2018. I would presume Bounce was planned. But honestly it's anyone's guess.

She's either planning the biggest debut of the century with a big label or her music career has been completely shelved. Nothing in over a year.

Literally no one. It averages at about 40k streams on each song. It should've had some vocal remixes (Kim Petras etc.) and 1 or 2 unreleased songs if she wanted it to be successful

Why should she remove her biggest song? Unpopular opinion but I actually wish there were more processed, pop songs on the album marketed towards young teens. She could've had the success that Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande etc. had with that market.

Troubled Paradise flopped. And that's why she's ditching hyperpop, the next album will be dance pop. Probably won't get anything from the next album until after tour though.

Charli album is a ME!ss. You've got the label forced collaborations of Troye Sivan & Lizzo on A&R tracks, mixed with Brooke Candy & Cupcakke on Pop 2-esque tracks. It is the furthest thing from cohesive and is just a collection of songs.

Coconuts was dead on release. The TikTok hype never transferred to streaming platforms because the song came out far too late and she doesn't have the budget for it to be added to major playlists. Also, I don't know how much the Republic experts are involved in her career. They could just be the distributing side of things. She's primarily signed to Luke's label, so his team probably plan the release strategy, hence the mess. I wouldn't say it thrived, it pulled standard Kim Petras numbers and nothing more.

I heard Come To My Party was reworked early 2018, so maybe that was planned too. And 1999 is also technically a 2018 droplet, it has an original cover that fits the theme.

Ah! Didn't know this. I know they've had bad times, but when both parties are on board with the release just look at the results. She's a millionaire, but if she went independent we would not see this level of budget ever again (all the vinyl releases)

Yep! It's a huge marketing strategy. Publications / social media users see "final album" and spread the word that this is her last album = attention. She's clearly very happy with the success of Crash, she was screaming with joy on live yesterday. She might be able to negotiate a deal with Atlantic or another label where she has to produce X amount of "mainstream" albums but can also release X amount of Charli-esque / less commercial albums.

She's predicted for #12 in the US, I don't get why she isn't doing signings in various major cities!! She's back in the US now, she did her UK promo, we need something for the US. I'll be so impressed if she gets #12 on Billboard 200, because she's never charted that high. But she could be doing more to secure that & try to get top 10.

I really hope she fights for the UK #1. She's currently leading in sales but apparently the Sea Girls (#2 prediction) are pulling out all the tricks to try and get #1. She really should've had the deluxe ready for release week. I also think a surprise alternative cover would've been a good idea to drop mid-week for a sales boost. Even if she did another UK signing. It would suck if she just missed out on the #1.

I doubt it. This rollout is so painful to sit through. She'll probably debut a new song at Coachella that'll come out over a month later & flop on release.

On what platform? Each song is sitting with 1-2 million on Spotify after a month & a half. This is standard, if not an underperformance for Kim. We need some song, any song to take off or this album isn't coming.

She was doing signings all day long. They sold 600 signed LPs in Rough Trade. Then she went to HMV after, and apparently another record store too. Plus she was performing Thursday night & travelled to London not too long ago. It's been a hectic couple of days, she's probably already tired herself out.

It's been so smart. I obviously bought a record when the initial drop went out, then she did the signed bundles (which I wanted too). And then for the signing I had to buy another record. And for the exclusive show I had to buy 2 CDs. So Miss XCX has 5 purchases from me. Plus I kinda want the UO exclusive. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but if this could go #1 on the UK album charts I would be so happy for her. At least top 10 is pretty much definite.

Out Out will massively boost the total album streams if it's included.

The problem is Kim always wants more. She's always wanted mainstream success, Era 1 is the closest she's got to that (with HTB doing well on Pop Radio), but she seems to think constantly restarting her debut album era will give her another shot at charting. So being realistic, we're not getting this new debut album anytime soon. Summer earliest! (I wouldn't be surprised if it came out in 2023). Anyway, hopefully HIFTB comes out at the end of this month.

I wanted this song soo soo badly this time last year. Gupi used to tease it on his stories, idk why it was scrapped, maybe because of the backlash he got about working with Cathy?
