  1. I love i talk 2 jesus omg... like i actually think it might be her saddest and most unsettling song I'm an atheist and in my view, the song doesn't rly spark evangelical vibes. What is rly palpable and moving is the sheer regret in the song (a theme that just seems so uncommon or like half-assed in most music? Like if ur gonna talk abt regret, u better evoke gut-wrenching depression chasm or not at all) I just relate hardcore - first to what seemed like depression+suicidality but then to what the song actually is: ruminating over agonising regret (ppl don't need to be Christian to relate to that, unfortunately) Also, as a fan of some of Johnny Cash's work, I was familiar w his 'I Talk to Jesus Every Day' - it's V evangelical and self-righteous and Lana's song interestingly has an opposite effect: she "talks to jesus" when she literally has no other option - there is no undoing the past but she still begs for it in vain and i do understand and can have a soft spot for people who rely on religion (or whatever else - drugs? therapy?) to deal w reality Edit: OH! also the parallels to pin up galore can she hurt me any more?????

    Lorde

except that lorde has 100% listened to lana's music so i don't understand why she gave jack's v similar production on stoned @ the nail salon the okay to publish. lorde n jack hearing something else? the real criminal/copycat is jack tho (for copying his previous work)

Pitchfork did! "her swings at profundity fall short—she is stoned, after all—and the understated production feels eerily reminiscent of another Jack Antonoff joint, Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club" See: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/lorde-stoned-at-the-nail-salon/
  12. so it's confirmed?!!! lana set to release Blue Banisters on July 30, 1 second before the bleachers' release
  13. manifesting an eddie vedder soft rock collab manifesting binaural vibes specifically 'of the girl' vibes but i'll even take into the wild vibes whatever
  14. controversial opinion incoming: lana's lyrics and melody are so beautiful and substantial that i think, whilst using the instruments u have listed, the songs' production could have been "sparser" in the vein of folk music, more earthy (think lizzy, may jailer days - this is where jack's production conflicts bc his work is just far too polished in general - and low key increasingly formulaic... - but is fantastic on i.e. NFR) then let the production soar and really go nuts and experimental during bridges (on dance till we die, etc.)
