Not surprising in the slightest. When will we acknowledge risk stratification of disease and say, "it's okay to be sick" in the Western world?

War, for the purpose of its conquest, as brutal and as inhumane as it is, is a reality of the world. Ethnic cleansing is another story.

I'm not entirely in favor of nations involving themselves in foreign conflicts. U.S. intervention may only escalate the situation. As far as China goes, say what you will about Putin, but he isn't a genocidal maniac like Xi Ping. And similar sanctions should have been placed on China ages ago. But of course that ain't happening.

I suppose, but I don't personally see Putin as a tyrannical leader whose aim is world domination. I see him as a sad man trying to reassemble the vestiges of a lost Empire. Passivity may risk further expansion into those former territories, but I don't think it'll set a precedent at large.

I'm not condoning this. I'm explaining the rationale and precedence here. I believe Ukraine deserves sovereignty. I also understand that its territories have been indistinguishably linked to Russia for over 400 years. I think Zelenskyy should put aside his pride, understand he is dealing with a dictator, and cease any aim for buddyship with U.S. through NATO if it means protecting his people.

What are you trying to prove? I understand that conflict in Crimea has been long standing, and of course the situation in Bosnia Herzegovina is relatively recent. Nonetheless, the era of great conquests and acquisitions of land by Empires throughout Europe has been at standstill for some time. Ukranians -- until now -- have been living normal lives. I hope that whatever happens, the situation resolves itself as soon as possible, and with as little bloodshed as possible.

Almost every human society and civilization in the history of the world has resulted from some form colonialism. We're lucky to be living in a time where war in Europe seems like a complete absurdity. Prolonged peacetime in Europe is a recent phenomenon.

I'm thinking about what these ten years have meant for the industry and how much has changed in terms of the consumption of music and in particular, artists. There was such a "big push" behind Lana. Sure, she was one of the first to be propelled via the internet and YouTube but she was after all already signed to Polydor when she first uploaded "Video Games" in May of 2011. I miss the magazine covers we purchased in stores, and the slew of television programs an up and coming artist like Lana was expected to work. Those pesky interviews from mid 2011 to early 2012, where she'd either get upset and walk out on the interviewer or make up some bold-faced that would be thoroughly investigated later on Lipstick Alley. TV is dead now. Music forums are dead. Most shops have reduced the amount of physical magazines they sell. SO much has changed. I'm sad. I love that she's left mainstream social media and only posts to accounts like Honeymoon and uhauljoe, where the audience is smaller and not just passing fans. I think her "progressive" takes on issues like race are and feminism are naive and uniformed, and a part of me wants to believe this is the result of self-censorship in our society, but girl is most likely honest and just indoctrinated like the rest.
