I've been praying for the music to sound as dark and mysterious and ALIVE as the title Ocean Boulevard suggests.. a journey into the unknown, a venturing into the subconscious of a complicated woman, person, city.. the juxtaposition of personhood with nature.. a revelatory track that brings to light certain truths but remains enigmatic.. a triumphant reclamation.. a genesis of sound

sometimes orchestral pop can be very bland and faceless.. this is Lana, so I'm sure that isn't the case here, but I hope there's something distinctive and unusual about the single, sonically speaking, some way that she's able to make it fresh and full of intrigue

I'm lamenting the fact that no one has brought up the single being "angry" with "conversational" lyrics.. I was hoping she'd usher in a new style of singing with this record, but with boz's more pop-oriented interests, I doubt it at this point
