Off topic sorry.. but in her tiktok where she was dancing to A&W and says “it’s littttt” like was she taking the piss? Being sarcastic? That it is very different to her music as of late (and probably songs she loves much more) and the lyrics are improvised and basic.. and yet it’s doing the best her music has done in years? Can’t tell if it’s my Britishness misunderstanding, to me it sounds so sarcastic???

I don’t have any standard vinyl as I think it’s a waste to double up on the artwork.. I literally don’t even play them, they’re just for display and I instantly devalue them by taking off the plastic! I was also stung my the signed posters! So ended up with loads of CDs! And they never even sent me an unsigned poster!! my husband thought I was crazy buying all the variants on release because he said that if you collect it happens over time.. then I showed him how much the UV/HM resale at now and he completely justifies me buying them straight away

I also thought the pale yellow with standard artwork was a missed opportunity.. I think if they do decide to do it, it will be after release. I think a lot of people (me being one) would cancel their standard vinyl preorder to preorder the yellow instead and then it wouldn’t necessarily boost sales that much I collect vinyl but I did not want the same Chem trail cover over and over, I bought the yellow variant and pic disk and then the other alt. She’s definitely been judged at face value rather than for her work and thoughts. Hence the “my body marred my soul”. When mentioning her to a work colleague before their response was “her with the ridiculous lips”.. despite the fact they’re probably referring to her BTD days, because of the way she looked then I feel like a large demographic just wrote her off and all of her work since

It’s totally understandable having the fear of familial lyrics that name drop like BB, because for a lot they aren’t relatable. BTD is or may not be relatable either, but I think that becomes fantasy land for some. There’s nothing bad sonically or lyrically about the family songs, they’re just nicely sweet and sentimental.. but the raw emotion isn’t the same and it doesn’t make you *feel* as much. A&W is raw and incredible and I think it hits home to a lot of women and the experience they have had, same as Ocean Blvd.

I actually have had a feeling that this was the plan from day 1 (but thought I’m probably being delulu). But I was getting very psychedelic vibes from the album which made perfect sense to me for visuals.. like the wall! Then BOZs comments about it being needed to be appreciated as a full piece of work and calling it a journey, made me think it even more.. And then A&W dropped! The transition between 1st and 2nd half screams visual (tropico type film) to me, I feel like I can just imagine it! Anyway.. enough of my wishful thinking
