Dazed and Elle are both beautiful (though I prefer the lighting on Dazed ~) but Flaunt is that kind of camp magic that I never expected from Lana, and more importantly I never knew how much I needed it in my life until I saw it It totally messed me up with how genius it was. Unfortunately, its usually wasted on the music tech student's "Avant garde" creations that are actually super reductive Every once and a while we get a guess electronic artist that uses them right and it blows our minds. We had one of the founders of ICE (the international contemporary ensemble) come with a desk and he used every object on the desk (so like, paper, pencil, mouse, soda can, etc.) as an instrument and live created a piece and used ambient sounds to accentuate it and whew lord Meanwhile most of the tech students just make fidgety, glitchy tracks that are not even intellectual enough to be excused But, On Topic: Idk how much longer I can take not hearing the snippets

If I had this option I would I'm a music major in college rn and I know a lot of music tech people with access to our super expensive surround sound hall, but I'd have to give a lot of favors for that and none of them are attractive

Her smile seems so weird and off to me on the cover, and I've seen her smile plenty of times, so its not that. I also think the truck in the background is kind of ugly, but I still love Lana being in front of aesthetically appropriate vehicles for each record. Imo she should've been in front of a hippie fan, or her and Chuck (and Neil ) could've rented or got an old Volkswagen-Van and decorated the outside themselves. THAT would've been aesthetically pleasing, and relevant to the record sonically To me, there are elements of peace, love, and change throughout most of this era, but they didn't fully commit to it with the album cover photoshoot of all things

The pictures we have are beautiful, and they do have a theme to them... I just wanted more of a balance of Lana + scenery, more pictures in general, lyrics (I was expecting the whole - 1-2 lines from each song like on Honeymoon/Ultraviolence), and not messed up lyrics for Love (come on ) Like, we've got two pictures of Jack Colker's Union 76, which I've seen before in person, so its not like its new or original. You can literally find that image almost exactly on pinterest Maybe if we had a video clip of the BTS or words about why they chose the locations they did, it would feel more special. It does seem like it holds meaning to Lana & Chuck though, so maybe we aren't meant to get it. Still, as a fan, I wish we had a better album booklet. It's just simple production value stuff that she doesn't do that keeps them from being great. Honeymoon remains my favorite booklet; it was a beautiful mix of color, aesthetics and scenery and shots of Lana that really conveyed the atmosphere of the record. This one feels a bit more disjointed. I've already preordered the CD (Signed ) and I would regardless of if there even was a booklet, I just feel like for an artist that has such an aesthetic side to her music, her album booklets could be better. This era had amazing photoshoots for magazines and interviews and what not, but the Album cover photoshoot just doesn't do it for me tbh. For me, it's not even like Chuck isn't good, or doesn't take good pictures, it just seems like she doesn't pick the right pictures, but I mean its all subjective so.

Well, I'm glad I didn't buy the Box Set now, the booklet's the same right? On happier news, "Honest, Able, Beautiful, Stable" sounds like amazing life goals summarized in 4 words, queen I thought people thought this song was about climate or political change for some reason.... Also, since this was the "last" song written for the record, does that mean its even newer than Coachella? Nnn
