5 Aaron Dessner tracks... might I say we won..
  2. honestly I didn't entirely get why she needed extensive stunt training to stand on the back of an electric motorcycle going slightly faster than walking pace lmao really... playing burn norton only to not perform any songs from honeymoon was diabolical
  3. in the name of higher consciousness I let the best man I knew go cause it's nice to love and be loved but it's better to know all you can know said it's nice to love and be loved but I'd rather know what god knows
  4. the whole set really… they ate that
  5. and when she reveals her blue hair on the cover art of surprise releasing hey blue baby as the first single from lasso
  6. same I’m gonna cling onto the delusion that it’s coming out on September 20 until the last possible moment… this is my one chance to get a Lana album release on my birthday no one is taking that away from me
  7. pls I just opened instagram and saw a girl from my med school class got engaged and here I am making my 8923th post in this thread time to log off and question my life choices I think

honestly.. and like if the words were at least interesting maybe .. but hereby? conduct? go girl give us nothing
  11. the way I'm watching this for the third time in almost 36 hours rn.. points were made
  12. Sorry if this has been posted before but I just read NME's review of the show and really liked it. The last sentence sums it all up tbh: It’s clear redemption is not the theme of the night but a celebration of a star who always stays true to herself.
  13. Billie showing up in this fit is killing me like girl I get it I literally dress like that too sometimes but there's a time and a place! but they look sooooo cute together
  14. I definitely agree too.. she usually does a lot better in smaller venues and with less production. But I wouldn't say it's never going to happen again, she did arena/amphitheater shows last year, granted not as small venues as 2012/2013 (except Paris I guess) and I think that ship has sailed, but mid-sized venues with a toned down production can work fine as well. With the caveat that it's the only time I've ever seen her live in my life so I don't have anything to compare it to, she did seem to be really feeling it last summer when I saw her in Amsterdam. In fact I had heard so much about how she was not so great live in recent years that I was extremely surprised lmao And I think even more than the venue choice it's just that she's an inconsistent performer because she wears her heart on her sleeve and if she can't get into it that night for whatever reason she can't / doesn't fake it.
  15. also I was just looking at the schedule and the whole time we've been talking about Lana's guests but we never talked about the fact that she could also appear as a guest for Jon or Bleachers tomorrow.. I mean I personally wouldn't want to get up on stage again the day after a headline show but who knows does anyone know if a headliner has ever made other appearances in the same coachella weekend?
  16. literally no one asked but I just rewatched the show and here are my notes I took this time: - jealous girl intro motorcycle ride up to the stage.. what can I even say.. will go down as an iconic moment of her career - her look.. what can I EVEN say.. also will go down as an iconic look of her career - Without you was a cute first song! I have everything I want money notoriety and rivieras is a helluva lyric to kick off a headlining performance with! - West Coast!!! wish she sang more but extremely extremely cunty moment.. the way I gasped when the first notes started playing.... and her literally singing on the balcony while singing on the balcony and I'm singing???? I was gaggeddd - Doin Time was a really good pick for this festival!! (also made me so happy to hear bc I looooove it) - her visible anxiety through the start was more endearing than detracting from anything and she really found her voice during the beginning of PWYC, but unfortunately that didn't last long as the mic issues with high notes began at the end of that song - for the rest of her performance she was understandably struggling to manage the mic and I felt that because of that she couldn't really get emotionally into the songs which was extremely unfortunate - I really had zero issues with the setlist up until then (except wishing some of the transitions had flowed better) but the vibe/energy went massively downhill with Bartender/Chemtrails/The Grants (I say this as someone who loves all of these songs, but there's a time and a place for everything!!), I think modifying the rest of the setlist like below could have worked wonders while not being too unrealistic - LOVED LOVED LOVED Candy Necklaces with Jon probably the highlight of the show for me. he brought exactly the energy that was needed and their improv/adlibbing was so satisfying... Lana's vocals always shine on this song and tonight was no exception despite the mic issues.. also the pole moment..aah.. - also loved Billie's part it was so wholesome <3 even if she kind of ate Lana up lmao - I like the idea of the hologram / SNL reference and I like Hope as a song but I'm not sure we needed that to eat up so many minutes allotted time for her to do an outfit change to perform two more songs.. also did not care to see Jack play piano - the ending still felt a bit abrupt to me on my second watch, the theatrics were fun, but I really don't think Y&B is a song that winds down the crowd or wraps up the set too well - overall she could have done less of pointing the mic at the audience, at her own shows sure we love to scream our hearts out, but maybe not entirely appropriate for Coachella... or at least I can understand why many would find it weird - she really kept her composure well despite the sound issues and gave it her best!! feel so proud of her All in all I'm very glad that we have this in HQ and it had many memorable moments which I'm sure we'll look back on fondly, even though I can't say it has become my favourite Lana performance! Also it's the way a week ago I wasn't even expecting anything particular from this lmaoo.. the way we collectively egged each other's delusions on here over the past few days needs to be studied by sociologists. But it wouldn't have been half as fun without you all Hoping there are no sound issues next week and Lana enjoys herself!!! I will be tuning in with excitement!!
  17. i’m really looking forward to rewatching this tonight when i get back home!! and i’m already thinking of so many moments from the show i want to see again which is telling me the performance will actually age well
  18. same lmao some part of me was genuinely thinking she was gonna start singing hit it&run or go-go dancer or boom like that….. like how did i even get there
  19. one of these photos is abt to finally make me change my ocean blvd album cover phone background after a year.. what a look
  20. we really do… the way we’re like lana sing the whole song lana sing bangers not ballads lana do this.. well I couldn’t be bothered with anything if I looked like that either
  21. exactly my personal love of the songs aside I do feel like BTD and Ride are always the highlight of the “old” part of her setlist energywise
