i dont think so. Hayden first thought of pd in 2018 and was working on it till 2022 but she never forced herself to only work on pd she worked on other stuff too, which is where hayden and melanie differ. Melanie only worked on portals and was constantly scrapping music making the process more difficult. However, with hayden inbetween thinking of and releasing pd, hayden released smfsp, changed her artist name, released bruises, carpet bed, golden age, unreleased 1 and 2, inbred, and then finally pd. That’s also not counting the other random little songs she’d release on her tumblr or soundcloud. Hayden is a very patient person and shes not the type to force herself to work on something just because its her main goal, if she gets tired of working on pw, she’ll probably just put on pin on it and work on other stuff then come back to pw. That’s why I dont really mind waiting a couple years for pw and moap, because inbetween those she’ll still be putting out other eps and albums.

The way i view it, if people have a place to learn about these previous eras then maybe they’d be less likely to go looking for this music in secret. The whole hush hush approach doesn’t help and only makes people wanna learn about this stuff more. Another issue brought by the hush hush approach is that now some people are finding old white silas songs and because they dont know what the line between White Silas songs and Ethel Cain songs is, they reupload these tracks on soundcloud and youtube under the name Ethel Cain

Tried making a version of preachers daughter thats closer to the original 17 track version with the 2 and a half hour runtime version probably off because we don’t know which four songs she cut but whatever Ik lead poisoning isn’t confirmed to be about willoughby but i really like it and bambi’s too short

I dont mind waiting a bit longer for the b-sides if it means we get amber waves and punish They just seem so gorgeous and lush i would luv a project full of 6+ min songs that have breathy vocals and soft instrumentals

and when all about ethel leaks and it turns out to be a diss track on ethel from shameless and not ethel cain

im trying to spread some positivity help 😭 i def do i think its so fun
