The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)

Yes, piano ballads and guitar ballads are so good and can be a really good song... you just have the utilize what's given to you. Use your voice and make some interesting melodies and harmonies. With piano, layer different keys and sounds in the song, to add structure and depth, to make it more powerful and exciting. With guitar, guitar is one of the most versatile instruments, you can lean into the plucking side of guitars and use some funky chords, or strum and make some awesome melodies. I feel like the problem with some of Lana's piano and guitar ballads, is that she makes them flat. If she wants to make her songs laid back and stripped, go ahead! (I mean don't but it's wtv) But just make it more entertaining. That's why I like her songs Change, Yosemite, Nectar of the Gods, Ocean Blvd, & Candy Necklace for those interesting piano/guitar ballads imo -
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING ME

You don't think that Norman is an iconic opener -

Yes, I was just thinking this the other day. We need another iconic intro song to her album like Cruel World, Norman Fucking Rockwell, & Honeymoon. I feel like we haven't gotten a true iconic album opener from her in a while. I'm thinking the album opener starts off with the sickest instrumental that builds up and then Lana comes in with a snarky witty line that's going to be iconic and great.. lowk like A&W -

Yeah I think he’s saying that the country album they worked on in 2018 is different from the project now. Which I feel like he thought that but I think this confirmation. Yeah that’s definitely likely. Turns out this time those songs won’t be released with that country album, unless she decides to use the songs they made in 2018 in this album (looking at you PGICM) -

Here's the Variety link: Jack Antonoff on Lana Del Rey's 'Darkness' and Producing Taylor Swift His interview on December 11th with Variety: At your Ally Coalition concert in 2018, Lana played two country songs that she said you had written together that nobody’s heard since. Has the country album that she’s been talking about for ages been in the works since that time? I’m not really sure, because she’s always got these, like, little planes on the tarmac, and some take off, and some don’t, and some take off and circle back around. A perfect example is that second half of “A&W” [the “Shimmy-shimmy koko-pop” rapping section]. That was around for a long time, and I kept feeling like “We’ve got to finish it,” but she knew … She’s an interesting person, we make a lot of things, and they live in different periods of time, and they grow and they change. I don’t mean to give an overly esoteric answer, but she’s an artist who is completely as she seems. There’s no fucking Oz there. Most of these people are as they seem. -

I don't know if there's a thread for this already or this has been discussed but Jack said in a recent interview that the album that him and Lana have been working on since 2018 (the country album), is not the current album that she's going to release next year. So probably no Hey Blue Baby, Prettiest Girl in Country Music (maybe), no covers that she did for that album. It probably won't be in TRPWS. Which most of us figured out already... but it's good to have confirmation -

That could be something. I wouldn't mind that switch, very Dance Till We Die coded. Plus, it gives Latin vibes which I always welcome from Lana. I wonder if this rumor is true, and would it be a drum beat switch in Henry or another song off the album -

Lowk her speech just confirms that Lana and Jack aren't going anywhere Jack is probably going to be here for another 10 years, unless something big happens... so we better get used to the dull sounding music

She basically thanked Jack for making her experience with music lovable again, showing her the ropes of Hollywood, and making music fun. She also thanked the relationship between him and Qualley, and how it's an example for her and her husband. And then she talked about how Jack does rich things more her and stuff. The congratulated him on his award. Nothing about the upcoming album or singles though.

That's such a slay of a name tho -
Well deserved to be honest! I know we complain about Jack and how he's making Lana's music boring or into Taylor Swift's songs, but he has worked hard to earn this award. Plus, his production for Short n' Sweet and GNX was really good

House of Spoils (2024) with Barbie Ferreira, Ariana DeBose, & Arrian Moayed Thoughts. . . I would recommend this movie as a movie to watch with by yourself or others, just a calm 101-minute movie Rating: 3/5 stars or 65 out of 100

Yeah, me either, but c'mon it's Lana. When have you ever heard an album from her and not hear trap beats or upbeat production, even with Honeymoon, Chemtrails, and Blue Banisters. Even Ocean Blvd too. I'm not expecting this album to sound mainstream, I'm expecting guitar ballads and pianos, but I'm sure there'll be some upbeat production or trap beats nonetheless
