The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)
somber replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
I'll give her past this month because of the L.A. wildfires, making sure everyone is safe, that paired with her honeymoon with her husband. But in February... I NEED BACK-TO-BACK BANGERS, the singles need to come out before May (if that's the actual release date), at least two music videos, three singles, official album cover announcement, articles interviews. She needs to serve, as she always does, but actually do it and she needs to do a proper promotion for this album. I hope she doesn't rely on Stagecoach being the sole serious promotion for TRPWS. -

It's wishful thinking but imagine if they collab again on his album! Like would it be another Stargirl Interlude? Or another Prisoner? Or another Lust for Life? I hope to see it happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up until there's something more that alludes me to them working together again -

Pop leaks on X said we could expect Lana next month! So, it's likely as y'all said that a Valentine's Day release or somewhere around that date is to be expected. -

Yeah, I agree. I think are good when they're done properly. You give a snippet from a track from you're upcoming album, then album trailer/teaser or album announcement, then a snippet of the lead single or any of the singles and go about your business and drop them singles for the album. May not be done exactly like that but I find that more enjoyable or digestible. Too many snippets and makes you feel you know the album, or you're dragging out the date for no reason. The lack of snippets causes the wait for the album to be slow and depressing. Just gotta find a balance -

To be honest, all her albums are recognizable and have iconic album covers. It's just that her earlier projects had more spunk, and uniqueness to them. Besides Ocean Blvd, her recent album covers aren't unique to me. While they be iconic is some respective manner, I really don't wish TRPWS will go back to that habit of album covers from Lana. Instead pull from her earlier projects, or at least the badass energy from the Ocean Blvd photoshoot. I can't wait to see what Lana has in store with this project!! I have a feeling that this might be another highly streamed album for me -
Most of these aren't upcoming releases, but albums I haven't listened to but will during January and February Ima check out; - Gold Mine by Stephen Day - CINEMA by The Marías (Their sophomore album is goated) - Hurry Up Tomorrow by The Weeknd - Blonde by Frank Ocean - Ivory by Omar Apollo - Coastal Grooves by Blood Orange - Melophobia by Cage The Elephant - Invitation to Her's by Her's (Their debut was so good, RIP) - Lady Gaga's 7th LP - The right person will stay by Lana Del Rey Also, ima check out albums too that I got recommended to from TikTok and here! Emma Louise, Grimes, Tame Impala, ima try to listen to TS for the second time with 1989, Brimheim, and lastly, I'm going to relisten to Deftones' albums because besides that aren't popular or somewhat known, I forgot about their songs. Ima start with Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan!
-
Yk I actually did listen to both her EPs before, but that was a year ago and I forgot the songs. So, I might check it out before I listen to Perverts
-
Ima listen to the EP tmrw afternoon, but why do I have a feeling that this will not be the best project to introduce myself to Ethel Cain

Um I don't know if anyone has seen this yet but on Genius, a song called "midsommar" has been added to the tracklist of TRPWS, with Ariana Grande as a feature. I don't know something about insiders knowing more than us, but I'm pretty sure this is fake, because this makes no sense. But this got me thinking, what if Ariana is on the album... that would be lowk a slay -

She has covers on nearly every album. With a country-esk sound for this album, there'll probably be a cover -

Lana to release new song "Henry, Come On" with Luke Laird - LEAD SINGLE
somber replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
I wouldn't mind the single cover to be the cover she posted with the snippet. Even though it may be Taylor Swift-like, others were saying, I like the vintage vibe to it. But I always wouldn't mind an outtake from the album cover photoshoot to be the lead single cover as well! -

I wouldn't mind an interpolation of unreleased songs from A.K.A. or Sirens, or outtakes. But I don't want a full unreleased song to take up space on the album. I would be fine with an old chorus but new verses. -
This Simple Girl snippet has me in a chokehold

I don't know remember who said it or if this is even true, but the upcoming album being related to Sirens mixtape but better quality. I actually really like that laid-back mixtape from Lana. The lyrics and the guitar ballads are interesting and evoke emotions. I just hope that this album will be much better than the mixtape cause I want star quality production, mixing, and lyrics. But if TRPWS is liken to Sirens, I wish to hear songs on the album like Next to Me, Bad Disease, My Momma that have that interesting melody and captivating guitar chords. Even if it's not interesting. Pretty Baby, Dear Elliot, & Try Tonight for that dark ambient quality vocals and matching production. And Birds of a Feather for that autotune style, something in between of Fishtail and TJF but better mixed and makes sense. Also, Out With A Bang for that type of upbeat production, though I still want trap beats influenced somewhere in the production (Jack save us ) and Dance Till We Die's bridge is a good representation of what I want for upbeat too. -

I personally don't care about numbers with a lot of artists, because I only care for the music mostly. But in all realness, what do you guys think the streams will be for this album? If Lana properly promotes this album with music videos and photoshoots, with interviews, this album could be high in streams. I think this album could be similar to Ocean Blvd in terms of streams, with only a handful of songs being over 100 million streams, while the rest of the album is under 50 million streams. Or better yet it could be compared to Honeymoon. I feel like a few songs will be TikTok famous (if it's still around by then), or internet famous. Then again, if she's performing at Stagecoach, we could assume the singles she puts out before then will gain traction because of the performance. And with that traction, we could assume country fans will likely be anticipating her country-esk album release. So that as well could pull numbers for the upcoming album. Coupled with her fans that will ultimately engage with her album, and the internet coming to judge her album most likely, we could be looking at a high debut. My guess, if Ocean Blvd had roughly around 18M streams for debut, and Blue Banisters (which is a country-esk album too) had around 7M streams for debut, we could be looking at 10M streams for debut, 15M if we're lucky. Possibly over time too, maybe as the months go on with her tour dates approaching, and her tour going on, numbers could climb as well. Personally, I think the highest streamed song off the album in one-years span would be around 350 million streams, similar to Let The Light In which has 333 million streams right now. And lowest, somewhere slightly below 50 million streams or way down like 20 million streams. Regardless of what happens though, I just cannot wait to wait to see what Lana has in store for us, I just know it'll be good! Disclaimer: THIS IS JUST WHAT I DO! I like to look at things from a statistical viewpoint in my life. I am not trying to compare and contrast Lana with any other artists, or care so deeply about numbers when it should be about the music. So please don't come for my head too much -

Guys I had a dream during my nap today and Lana came to me said: "Beware, your lighthouse is shining, underneath the fog of your despair." So, I'm pretty sure that's like a lyric in one of her songs or smth can't wait to stream it
