Yeah it just feels very.........thrown together to me. Like in retrospect Quicksand feels very thrown together. Like it feels like she wrote and recorded both very quickly without giving much thought to the lyrics or intent of the actual song. I just feel like its a bunch of lines/lyrics thrown together

You did I'm sorry I was opening under the impression that she had only worked with him on one song. I still don't think she deserves to have her career thrown away, but she needs to cut the bullshit and let him go, I'm sure other producers would take her.

I think hers being called a mixtape is less about producer compensation and more about them not wanting it to count for her album contract + its an excuse for them to make the artist do all the promotion themselves

But I don't understand whats worse about paparazzi snapping a picture of Halsey doing drugs while she thinks she's in private, in relation to artists talking about and singing about doing drugs? Like if you can explain how one is worse then by all means do, but if drug abuse is as bad as you claim it is, then I don't see a difference. Both are still technically publicly endorsing drug abuse.

See the problem with your argument is that you're comparing two completely different things. You wouldn't say the same thing about sexual assault because that is someone directly and intentionally harming another person. You're weighing casual, light drug usage as the same as intentionally harming someone through sexual assault. The two things have completely different effects and implications. That's why your statement/argument/"satire" has absolutely no merit or basis to go off of besides your own twisted view of ethics, because again, drug usage and sexual assault are not comparable behaviors.

Well, they're all doing it, its not a big deal anymore" which directly mirrored Masochism's post, thus directly implying that in your eyes a Hollywood director sexually assaulting someone is comparable to Halsey doing a bump of coke on a yacht. I did read the post, you can try to twist it around like that's not what you said, but it is.

Wow that would completely destroy the story for me. I understand that at it's core CMBYN isn't an LGBTQ+ centered story but one centered around desire and coming of age that happens to focus on two male lovers, but the idea of 4 sequels seems to kind of destroy that. It would be nice to see a sequel that picks up where the last part of the story was (like 2015 or 2016) and maybe flashed back to some of their experiences in the meantime, but whole parts of the story without Elio and Oliver even being together sounds terrible and almost entirely counter to the original story.

I wish the movie would have focused more on the time in Rome. It would have made for a better climax
