Thank you so much for putting this list together! I was attempting to make a little cd of what I thought was pre-Auerbach "Melancholia" for a friend's Christmas present and getting completely confused on what would and wouldn't make the cut. When (and if) Your Girl leaks, it would be on this as well, correct? Also, I know Is This Happiness? is a bonus track on Ultraviolence, but it fits in so well with the other Nowels tracks I think it'd be great in this mix, too. Just my opinion tho!

Someone already said this, but I think this song is definitely about Barrie and the friend's baby/son refers to Jaime King and her child. Wasn't Barrie in a different country when Jaime's son was born? And weren't Lana and Barrie rumored to have been engaged for a bit before they broke up? I don't think we have to take every lyric 100% literally. But this is just my opinion and what I've read into the lyrics.

It's not that I ever disliked Kill Kill, but it's not my favorite from AKA if I'm being honest... however, the demo version has completely transfixed me! It's something about how slow that second verse is after the chorus and the lyrics about the ocean that really takes me somewhere unique. Reminds me a little of West Coast with its so wrong it's right cadence and sort of desperate feeling to the whole thing.

Kill: For K Part 2 I think the beginning really throws a lot you off with RMU, it used to do the same for me...it's really an abrasive opening, but it has some of my favorite lyrics from Lana, not to mention the whole dark/voodoo vibe of the song. I think it deserves better than it usually gets, so I'm glad it made it this far!

Oh Say Can You See deserved better imo, but as long as Raise Me Up (to heaven tbh) has immunity, let's get this done... Kill: KILL KILL plz The Ocean is far superior!
