Is there any chance that this is fake? But I got a re-tweeted message from @pattygrantlp "Big things coming soon". So I think that she'll do the same strategy as with UV having some singles out during the tour and album in the summer. So will she release HM and MTWBT as singles?

I'm sorry, It was unwarranted, I just loose my shit sometimes when I feel people are disrespecting her. I really have an unhealthy relationship with this woman. Marina has nothing to do with anything

You started the shit by judging Lana's lyrics as dumb without any arguments. In my opinion Marina is a dumb lyricist so it was surprising that you judged so severly Lana's lyrics being a fan of someone who writes a lot of dumb lyrics

They judge her music like 8th grade lyrics and they are on a Lana fansite. I really feel that her career is truly fucked up. In her place I woud retire, have kids and I would enjoy life spending my inheritance and my money earned with music. She'll never found any respect for her artistry and if that is what she wants better for her to retire already

What is bad in these lyrics may I ask you? You are taking about stupid lyrics when you have that mediocre Marina in your avi whose music is forgotten in one week? I never cringed harder than when I listened to the ridiculous songs from Froot tbh so it's a little disconcerting when a Marina stan is objecting at any lyrical content

I'm gonna give you my love. Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love You've been coolin', baby, I've been droolin', All the good times I've been misusin', Way, way down inside, I'm gonna give you my love, I'm gonna give you every inch of my love, Gonna give you my love. Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love Wanna Whole Lotta Love Way down inside... woman... You need... love Shake for me, girl. I wanna be your backdoor man. Keep it coolin', baby. This is one of the greatest LedZep tune, and I could post from the Stones, Beatles etc. Lana is no worse than these, so for those of you who are saying that Lana's lyrics are 8th grade lyrics, go and fuck yourselves. In the 8th grade you barely learned to write and read properly hunty. I don't say that Lana is a great lyricist but is not half as bad as some of you here are suggesting she is. With these type of "fans" Lana you don't need haters. She puts something out which is intrigiung and the spoiled fans are bitching around like some misguided dorks.

I like the lyrics, those who are preparing to nitpick about it needs to get real: HM will be about love, relationships etc. I read some reactions that she needs to change her theme, no, she just had to drop the overused tropes in her lyrics and I don't see daddies or red dresses here. The lyrics are expressive as always and have much more into it than some wannabe poets here would credit them
  8. I'm disappointed for the fans in Dallas. I don't think that she had any say in the cancellation and weather can change in a dime but I would expected a reaction form her on twitter or Facebook. Some fan account twitted that she cussed (their wording) the venue for the cancellation but I think that it would be nice if she explaines the situation to the fans directly through her social accounts. I hope that she understands that she owns everything she achieved to her fans
  9. These are my readings after her first show: 1. The stage was gorgeous, in this department she clearly improved compared with her previous tours 2. The sound was good, she sung better with the backing vocals, I liked nearly all the videos from the show. She was relaxed and confident 3. In my opinion she used her unreleased material to change the pace of her set, which was normally extended for the big venues and risked to become to monotonous 4. I don't think that the unreleased material used in her show will be a part of HM because her label didn't like it and they have some control over her next release (unless she is in a war again with her label and that would probably end their collab) 5. Some songs from UV are just not suited for singalongs in concerts (FMWTT) and I don't think that she wants to emphasize those songs anymore (otherwise why was she embarrassed by UV saying that she went to far?) UV is an exeption the melody is too good 6. Because of the unreleased material she had chosen I expect a faster paced album and I don't expect the new era to begin during her tour like UV
  10. From the Houstonpress.com: "It's probably a smart move that Lana Del Rey (or her management team, anyway) isn't allowing the press to cover her tour with Courtney Love, which began Thursday night at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. To say the Hollywood “sadcore” singer has had a touchy relationship with the media is putting it lightly, and artists are well within their rights to restrict access that way; in fact, no less than Bob Dylan did it earlier this week and our reviewer Bob Ruggiero paid for a ticket with good old greenback US dollars. Thursday was also the first night of the tour, which surely added a few first-night jitters to the equation." I criticized her team a lot but this is a good move defending her from negatively biased writers that are coming to her show for free and afterwards they are so "confused" about how she's adored like boy band but they didn't saw nothing worthy of that adulation. This is a nice "fuck yourselves" from Lana. I'm hoping now that they are getting their shit toghether from now on
  11. I love all the videos uploaded. Ty for sharing with us. Great show for Lana!
  12. You're right if we are talking about a usual big label release but tbh I don't expect a usual release for HM
  13. I wondered why are these old songs coming up now. I think that she needed to extend and break the monotony of her set, so until she can use the songs from HM she'll use her unreleased material. What I'm worried about is that I sense another fuckery between her and her label
  14. They talk more about Courtney then Lana? Fuckin haters http://www.houstonpress.com/music/why-i-love-courtney-love-7405093
  15. from the same account @c__beard: "Just met her bassist, he said they learned songs from Honeymoon but can't perform them." ... I would add: not yet (I'm starting to get hyped for this tour)
  16. A tweet that I received from @c__beard: "Lana's bassist told us that her record label questioned why she wanted to sing B sides but "she just wanted to"".
  17. Is this possible? Lana's Setlist "Sleepwalk" (Intro) "Cruel World" "Cola" "Blue Jeans" "West Coast" "Us Against the World" "Born to Die" "Ultraviolence" "Summertime Sadness" "Music To Watch Boys To" "Brooklyn Baby" "Shades of Cool" "You Can Be the Boss" "Serial Killer" "Video Games" "Million Dollar Man" "Off to the Races" "Money Power Glory" "Gods & Monsters" "Body Electric" If this is true I'm so bummed because I cannot attend her concerts (I'm from Europe)
  18. Exited to hear that she rehearsed OTTR. But what if these unreleased songs are on her setlist... and what if they are on HM...
  19. This. UV changed her critical perception for the better but the only way she can overcome her staunch haters (rather to make their disdain irrelevant) is to be commercially successful and to have good live performances ( this is why UV wasn't nominated for The Grammies). Unfortunately she cannot be an alt queen and not because she sold a lot of albums lately (UV sold 1/5 of BTD) but the sad reality is that the alt(indie) community will never respect her artistry (this is so unfair towards her, makes my blood boil, they are just so jealous on her mainstream success). Let's hope that HM will be a good era for her because I need her voice in my life for a long time to come
  20. This is the riddle of HM isn't it? Why coming out so soon after UV with another album? Possible answers: 1. She wants a new shot to mainstream stardom. She chickened out from performing properly UV because she went "to far". She get embarrassed by her own lyrics (UV, FMWTT). Partially I can include her tour in this scenario but she also needs some good videos and live performances on tv. HM will be syrupy, there will not be any controversy in it, a rather boring afair with some potential hits. 2. She wants to get out from her contract with Interscope because she wants to be an alt queen, being random and fully integrated in some artistic community. This would explain the UV promo fiasco, the iphone video, her friction with her label regarding UV and generally her I don't give a fuck atitude wich ended in random interviews and show cancellations. I expect a good and uncompromising album if this becomes true but brace yourself to more randomness. 3. Something in the middle. She is maneuvered by the hyenas around her: the Mawson gang which wants to cash in from her tour and her label which wants to cash in from her commercial potential that she has left. She has no clear ideas going forward with her music: alt vs. mainstream. I would hate this because it would result in a subpar album with no hits, little promo, with minimal involvement from her label and would end up like Tropico tbh.
  21. Lana's main problem was her reluctance to perform her music. Let face it, this is the mother of all of her problems but I'm not optimistic tbh. I hope the tour will go well for her and maybe she'll be confident enough to do some live TV
  22. I hope that she extends her set tbh. BTD and Paradise songs are a must because they are popular and she can sing them well but she needs to add songs from UV like CW, WC, SOC, BB, UV and maybe OM. I expect that she'll sing at least 5-6 songs from UV and a total of minimum 15-16 songs for her set (one and a half hour of performance without the off stage wanderings). I hope that she'll change her show a little bit because the extended length can heighten the sense of monotony. I hope that she involved some professionals in organizing her set and performance. Persisting with her smoking shtick and talking with her band about what will they do next would be silly at this level
  23. Yeah, I can imagine something like this: Lana: "Let's do a new one!" The public is going apeshit Lana facing her band asking rhetorically: "We never did this one?" Band: "No" Lana singing an a capella "version" of LiB just 1 verse and the chorus Lana laughing awkwardly to the public and sticking cutely her tong out The first rows are going apeshit Lana: "Let's do Carmen"
  24. "Take that body downtown" Is not bad per se but I deeply hate this for many reasons
  25. I have some negativity to vent out. She seems to me stuck in the same "I don't care attitude" that characterized the UV era. I didn't mind that much that she didn't do promo for her work but I was bummed because she canceled her shows and gave those random interviews. I get that she was depressed, I blamed Barrie for that, but obviously Francesco changed little in her, she's depressed as ever, at least so it seems from her public appearances of lately. So I have low expectations from this era regarding videos and performances which is a bummer for those who cannot see her on tour. And regarding her upcoming tour I don’t understand who had this “brilliant” idea to put her show in 20.000 venues?! She sounded best with the stripped back sound with strings on the European tour, in small venues where she was mostly surrounded by her fans who loved her and didn’t nitpick on her performance and her voice could fill the room. She loves to meet her fans but she’s seems uncomfortable on stage. Smaller venues were ideal for her: meeting your hardcore fans and singing along with them. But in a 20.000 venue?! There will be 3-5 thousand Lana fans and 15000 casual concert goers who will certainly not like that her show is very short and monotone with no encore, will not like her wanderings in the first row for 10 minutes for taking presents and selfies or her uneven vocals and lack of engagement with the audience. I’m a fan and I can watch her talk silly things for an hour and I enjoy it, but I would never accept an attitude like hers in concerts from anyone else. So if she didn't changed her show, frankly with her “I don’t care” attitude I don’t expect any changes, there is a potential that her shows will be greatly criticized in reviews and that will do a greater damage than SNL for her public perception and career. This is shaping up like another forced misstep in her career like SNL was when her management forced her to perform when she clearly wasn’t prepared to take that huge pressure on her. Economically is a short sighted planning to cash in. I would have increased the ticket prices instead and I would kept her show in 5-7 thousand venues. But it seems to me that Mawson wants to cash in (from what I know Interscope it’s not involved in her tour) and he convinced her that this is a good move for her career. Imagine Lana with the cigarette (in her last picture with the boys), where the “I don’t care” attitude is evident, coming on stage and entertaining 20000 plus people. There she will not be worshiped by the audience, she’ll have to entertain those people a concept that she doesn't fully grasp yet. I hope that I’m wrong and she'll have a great tour and she'll obliterate with her performance everything that I said and I will happily eat my words
