Whoa okay, I didn't really analyze the lyrics of Numb until just now. Most of her songs are almost always about breakups and relationships so I guess I kind of assumed this one was too... but after focusing on the words, I feel like this song is about her record label. Like she's being pressured (as all label artists are) to release a certain type of record and she's trying to fight back. Does anyone else agree with that? I'd love to hear y'alls input!

Bringing this thread back but just want to clarify ***no updates*** on new music, so sorry if I got your hopes up
I grew up listening to Fiona and I've always adored both her and her music. I love all 4 of her records and they're all so different from each other. I think my opinion is pretty unpopular, but Extraordinary Machine is my favorite. One of my favorite albums of all time, actually. And even more unpopular, I actually much prefer the finalized released version of the album than Jon Brion's version. Don't get me wrong, he did a great job on the songs and I enjoy listening to those demos from time to time, but I just love the direction Fiona took the album in when she started working with Mike and Brian. I truly think it's a masterpiece, and it's a timeless record that has never grown old for me.
I wanna hear y'alls favorites from each album! It's so hard to pick because all her songs are so great, but I'll list mine.

I also wanna say that recently she appears to be much more healthy and I think she's doing a lot better mentally than she was a few years back, and that makes me sooo happy
In her recent fan Q&A she stated she was indeed working on a new album but it wasn't finished and she didn't give any time estimate, so I think it's safe to assume it'll probably be a while. But that's just Fiona lol. There's always huge gaps in her discography, but it's okay because it's worth the wait. She never fails to amaze me. <3does anyone have the original Jon Brion version of Extraordinary Machines?

Lolita. Never understood the hype around that one. All the songs that I used to dislike from BTD (Diet Mtn. Dew, Million Dollar Man, Lucky Ones) all grew on me overtime and I adore them now. I LOVE every song on the album except for Lolita which I just find annoying tbh. Sorry
*side note - I much prefer the demo of TIWMUG than the album version but I still love the song so w/e

Ummmmm omg. I really didn't expect her to publicly address any of it. I can't believe she actually posted a photo with her legal name on it. It's a sticky situation with the whole abuse thing and I don't want to act like I know for a fact that Poppy is guilty, because really I don't, but tbh her going to the length of completely breaking her character (which is something I never thought I'd witness) points even more to guilt imo... like she knows she's in deep shit and if she loses the lawsuit it'll make her look better or something. Damn what an absolute mess
edit: another thing worth mentioning is this kinda seems like a last stitch effort since she's gotten so much backlash for not addressing it. I mean people have been livid over the fact that this is all going on and she continues to post her dumb 45 second youtube videos and pointless tweets like it's not serious. so yeah. I don't hate Poppy, I really don't. I thought she was badass when I first discovered her in 2015. but Mars has the upper hand and I really don't see any reason to doubt her claims. I mean we know so little of Moriah, it's kind of hard to tell what's genuine when she's done nothing but play a robotic emotionless freak from the beginning.
