  1. I'm waiting patiently for that 320 kbs bliss on Friday and I'm quite optimistic about what will come this era. The music is fantastic and I think that she will slowly start to perform outside her tours. It seems that she's gotten out of that depressive state and I think that Francesco had something to do with this (I'm starting to like him). On a side note, I visited recently Barry's site and social accounts and the guy is a depressive, constantly smoking and boozing wreck. I hope that he will do something with his music because he's talented. Maybe Lana still help him with money but it's really sad to see him like that.
  2. You guys heard that angelic laugh of hers on the BBC interview? She's back! She seems so serene and happy. And Salvatore
  3. Regarding the critics, no one should take them seriously anymore regarding Lana. Some of them are pissed because they didn't received the cd before release day and her label played the record at UO. Half of them don't even listen to her album anyway they just blurt out their preconceived ideas about her (and they are boring as fuck because they just plagiarize that was written already before). My advice is to not even bother to read their pieces. The music is exquisite, it's not immediate, you need to let some songs grow on you but most of the critics won't even try. There are some cute lyrics like "Soft ice cream" and I saw some idiots saying already "what a lazy/stupid lyric" when we know that Salvatore is an ode to her first vacation in Portofino with Francesco (we even have that picture when she eats ice cream). TLY is about her breakup with Barry etc., but how many critics would observe such personal underpinnings of her lyrics: no one. On the side note I have a feeling that she's happy and energized with this signing in London. I still have hope that we'll see her performing soon
  4. I have to admit that I was wrong about Kieron and Rick. The album sounds good. Kudos to Lana as a producer.
  5. There are a few days left to the release, I wait till then to listen in HQ. I'm happy that the album sounds good and her vocals seems to be better than ever. I want to do something differently this era: I won't read any critical piece on HM. Really, what's the purpose of that anymore? To read the same cliche-istic writings about Lana and to poison the entire experience? I'm fed up with that. I never had in my life a more twisted relationship with music than I had with Lana. I just used to love music and was very personal but with Lana I got immersed in this meta discussion about her that became too much. When I listened to HM I was so carried away by her vocals (even with that LQ periscope stream) and I had this feeling that I have to listen only to her music and not to pay attention to the other stuff. Anything that could be said about Lana, especially the bad, was said, they just continue to repeat themselves. Fuck them and I'll enjoy the music.
  6. The album is gorgeous. The second half is even better than the first. Bye, I'm slayed. I don't give a fuck anymore about the charts or about the critics. I will just dream about those messy, LQ, incredible vocals that I heard from Lana.
  7. @@FutureRetro lexical content: bitch, cunt, dumb, dumbass, kiiii x 100 etc. I'm waiting for that ban or maybe the mods have fun with this dude. Maybe some of my posts are boring or annoying for some and it happens that I don't like some people's posts here but it's not acceptable to insult people because of that. Anyway, I don't like the idea of the UO early listen party. We had a lot of songs from the album and I still want to be surprised on release day. It would be a miracle if the album will not leak in HQ (it will leak in LQ and this is even worse) and will render rather meaningless the release day of 18th.
  8. MTWBT receipts: YT 244.000 streams (on Spotify is <1000) US Itunes peaked at 37 and is going down (ww is at 45) This will not chart anywhere with these numbers This is hugely disappointing because I really like MTWBT but the release strategy was ridiculous as I pointed out in my earlier posts. I mentioned this for that lobotomized monkey @@FutureRetro who "educated" me and others about how things are going in the music business . But what to expect from a little troll who has a certain difficulty reading posts with 5 sentences qualifying them as "essays" but his posts are full of insults and kiiiiis .
  9. Another LANADELRAY ”On Tuesday afternoon, the “Brooklyn Child” singer teased two songs, “Freak” and “Music to Watch Boys to”, from her upcoming venture, Honeymoon.” ”Actually, this was initially deliberate to be the lead single from Lana’s new album however for some purpose, Interscope launched “Excessive By The Seaside” because the lead single from the album.” http://www.statesmantribune.com/music-to-watch-boys-to-lana-del-rey-unveils-new-track/2976/ This has to be a joke, right?
  10. Mess at the universal.de article. Even the people from her label are unable to write something decent about her without the usual cliches. RAY
  11. Man you need a leash because you're out of your element, take your pills please and take several seats. You have no clue what you're talking about. She's not pushed to the radio dude. She has no significant radio play and she'll not have this era. Her singles are weak commercially because she has no exposure to new listeners besides her fandom. HBTB dropped out from H100 after just two weeks. On Friday she will announce on her social accounts that MTWBT will be on ITunes and Spotify and only her core fandom will notice, the blogs will not write again about it. On the other hand, her fans will not be enticed to buy the single because they get it anyway with the album. Lana or her team doesn’t care about the single charts at this point, don’t be ridiculous dude. With the promo they had? So there you have the reasons why releasing it on Friday has no real importance to anything they just missed a day and a half of strong sales. The only mess is in your dumb head dude but form now on you are on ignore
  12. The only promo she had this era is form the online blogs who still cover her. All of them are sharing links to some obscure site instead of her Spotify, YT or Itunes page. This is a great strategy indeed. In two days the hype will be gone, people listened to the song and fewer will buy it. Releasing on Friday for what? For charting higher on the next week H100? Opening on 55 instead of 70 and after a week will disappear from the charts? But there is no need to argue with a moron. Kind of pity your mother that she had to fart to the world an imbecile like you.
  13. First, I didn't write an essay. Second, they are not maximizing anything by releasing it on Friday. Sales or sales no matter when you are starting them and it's not like she will chart on the hot100. I want to listen to the song and I have to do it on obscure sites. And speak nicely, no need to be rude. There are any mods here?
  14. With 8 days to go we don't have any interviews besides that from V magazine. I would like to know if she was approached for interviews and she refused or she wasn't contacted at all. The UK papers practically make no reference about the release. I would be surprised if she opens at no.1 in the UK (and some people expected her to sing the Spectre song). The decline in the UK it's real and It's sad because there it all started and they really liked her
  15. I'm finally accepted her decision to not promote her music which is not that easy when you're a fan and you want to see her performing her material. But why is MBWTB coming out almost two days later after the premiere? I love MTWBT and I wanna buy it or listen to it on a streaming service. Why didn't she or her team released the song immediately after the world premiere? It makes no sense. This is not anymore about having or not having promotion is just stupid decisions after stupid decisions. I kind of understand that she's not interested in making money but her label should maximize her output nonetheless. If she would open with 70k or less that would make her happy? It will not happen because her fandom will save her first two weeks of sales because she brought the magic out again, but still there is so much wasted potential in her material (poor UV)
  16. I had the same feeling when I listened for the first time on beats 1. I was underwhelmed, I expected something different. But this is a huge grower...at least for me
  17. Why aren't we talking about Lana's fucking album?! It's shaping up to be quite good! Rejoice!
  18. It's difficult to compare it with the slow songs. For me MTWBT>HBTB and TLY>>>>>HM
  19. At first I didn't like it, now I think that it's one of her best songs. Can't wait for the album
  20. Like the snippets, praying the songs will be at least as good. I'm certain that we didn't get the full instrumentals for the songs. HM is shaping up to be different from UV, BTD and Paradise. Besides HM which, except her vocals, is filler material, every song has something special to it and this is giving me hope for the album.
  21. The idea of Lana giving a shit about Gaga's music (or copying her) is so hilarious. When Lana wrote that stupid Gaga diss-track I believe that she was pressed because an inferior songwriter had huge success and she wasn't even noticed. It was a petty and silly move from Lana and unfortunately became public creating one of the most hateful anti-Lana groups out there. Those lyrical similarities that the topic starter mentioned are far fetched and some them frankly shows the different use of the terms by the two singers (like downtown). On the other hand, Gaga is a confident performer and here I would like Lana to copy her.
  22. I liked the Franco interview. I didn't liked particularly Franco’s questions but I was impressed by Lana’s eloquence, she’s definitely a smart person. At least I got some clues about how she envisions her career going forward and what is her plan dealing with the negativity around her: 1. She will exclude the press (except maybe for some photoshoots and interviews with Franco or Chuck or someone who she trusts). This means that she’ll maintain the promotion at a minimum. 2. She will not perform outside of her shows. 3. She doesn’t plan to retire, on contrary she will come out quickly with new releases. All of this is consistent with what she did so far. I don’t know if it is a good plan for her career, it seems rather passive and will push her in the niche artist category. But if is good for her it’s good for me until she keeps rolling out good music. I bought HM, TLY and HBTB in HQ. HM is still a 5/10 for me and I still think that it is a terrible choice to open the album. TLY is one of her best songs and if it would be more charged emotionally would be a 10 for me. HBTB instantly teleports me to the beach and I replayed it insanely and I didn’t get bored. But still, so far UV>HM
  23. There is nothing really to talk about. The HM release is symbolized by that lonely board over the Mel's Drive-In, which makes everything related to the album seem like a dream, an afterthought. The songs released so far are pretty but without the electrifying sensation that I felt listening to BTD or UV. HM so far sounds like someone is saying goodbye and being deprived by the energy to go forward. I found the V magazine shooting somewhat fitting with this picture and I’m looking forward to see the HQ pictures and I’m curious about the Franco interview too. But I can’t get out of my head what Dan Auerbach said about Lana in the Rolling Stone interview. It was for me like a confirmation of something bad about you knew but that you never fully accepted until then. The way the interviewer, a veteran music journalist, put rhetorically the question “Do you think she gets the respect she deserves as an artist?” and the way Dan answer it, without hesitation, “No, I don't think she does. But you know that. I don't need to tell you that”, it sounds like its common knowledge between the insiders that Lana is not a respected artist. Like many of you, I read a lot about her and I got the feeling that she’s disrespected as an artist, especially in the US, but somehow I hoped that this is just the opinion of some music journalists. I cannot imagine how difficult was/is for her to be creative while being disrespected by your peers and music journalists and to be attacked relentlessly with misogynistic and ideological rants. The puzzle pieces are starting to fall in their places: that she didn’t find a community in the music business, that she likes to work with certain people with which she feels safe, that she’s afraid to go before the general public with her music, that she don’t want certain people (critics) to hear her music, that she feels fucked up talking with the press, that she doesn’t want to promote anymore and excluded the press from her tour, that BTD and UV didn’t get any Grammy nominations or recognition in the US, that she often looks depressed. I feel silly now that I expected bells and whistles from this era when things were/are possibly that bleak in her life. She’s not there emotionally and this is coming through her music lately. I have the feeling that she somewhat lost the joy of creating for others and she didn’t put her heart and soul in her songs lately. There is just a detached (but genuine) sadness and disappointment feeling without really wanting something. Now, what is the point to remain a recording artist when you are not respected, your career is making you depressed, you’re afraid to perform your music and possibly you lost your joy of creating for others? On the other hand, it’s hard to let go a career that others (good musicians) are unable to achieve in a lifetime and not to use your only real talent. She needs to sort out these things because she cannot go forward for long like this.
  24. The era is shaping up to be interesting after all. I really like the V magazine photo-shoot and I love HBTB and TLY. There is so much truth in Auerbach words about her: You produced most of Lana Del Rey's last album. What was that like? It was stressful, but at the end of the day, it was really enjoyable. She's such a force, and it was cool to go into her world for a little while. "Brooklyn Baby" — fuck, I love how that song sounds. Do you think she gets the respect she deserves as an artist? No, I don't think she does. But you know that. I don't need to tell you that. I'm not worried about her, because the people that love her are fucking obsessed. Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/black-keys-dan-auerbach-on-dylan-lana-del-rey-new-psych-soul-project-20150903#ixzz3kgUo5Zi6 I wanted her badly to shine but she has to shine in her on way I know that now. I love her no matter what and I'm one of those obsessed
  25. If there wouldn’t be the Weeknd release it would be a total blackout of news regarding LDR less than 3 weeks from her announced release date. I didn’t had this feeling before regarding her but people are getting bored by her. The think-pieces are gone, even the staunchest haters observed that they kept repeating themselves, but the lack of promotion and the bland music that she put out lately are making her a boring subject to everyone. In the mainstream media LDR simply doesn’t exist. It was telling that half of the tweets about her contribution in Prisoner were spelling her stage name Ray. One of her bigger problems consists in putting out too much music without exploiting it artistically or commercially. Her avalanche of unreleased songs, the movie songs, guest collaborations, quick releases are creating a dumping sensation that elicits reactions like “another Lana song?”, “same old”, “ethereal boring” etc. After BTD she cooled of her music first with Paradise and then she cooled of even further her relation with the GP with the somber UV. After UV she released a series of bland songs BE, ICF, WFL and then she opened her new era with the ultra-boring HM. Well, these things affects not just the GP but her fandom too, I don’t know how many of you revisited the songs mentioned before. It’s there a strategy behind that? What is her goal? In this context I wondered again about the logic of the HM release: why so soon after UV? 1. My first idea was that she wants to rebound commercially after UV but every move she made so far it seems to sabotage the commercial success of HM. As I mentioned before there is no worse song to start the campaign than HM which has absolutely no commercial value. She released a summer song (HBTB) in August instead of releasing it in July. HBTB is a frail attempt to commercial appeal because, despite the catchy melodies and the relatable lyrics, has no good enough production to be a commercial hit and it's not pushed to the radio. TLY is a good song but again has no commercial value. MTWBT has to be insanely catchy and a huge hit to better the commercial prospects of HM. But no matter the music, if you are not promoting it you cannot expect good results when you are dealing with Lana’s relatively weak notoriety. So far she’s not promoting at all and the execution is botched too: the cover and the HBTB video are subpar. There are rumors that she will release soon HM as a single WUT?! 2. Maybe she felt creative and she wanted to put another masterpiece out after UV. But look at these two sequences CW, UV, SOC, BB, WC and HM, MTWBT?, TLT, GKIT?, HBTB, even with the question marks the first part of UV seems clearly superior qualitatively to HM. I think that she made a huge mistake doing all her sound on HM with Rick and Kieron because the production on her released songs so far is weak. HM the opener is a bland song sonically which wanders aimlessly with lyrics that are a parody of her artistic persona. HBTB is a failed attempt to commercial success and TLY is a good song but cannot salvage in itself the first part of HM. I couldn’t grasp yet a solid strategy behind HM and, if the unreleased songs from HM are in the same mold, the album will further enforce the dumping feeling about LDR music which is not good for keeping or, God forbid, enlarging her fan base. She cannot hide anymore, this era will be a make or break deal for her, she either will promote heavily HM or it will flop and things can turn ugly even for her. I'm not fooled anymore by the front-loaded sales because I know that after 1 month HM will drop like a rock. But there’s is a speculation that she doesn’t care because she wants to quit anyway. You never know with her, I just keep a slim hope that this era is turning around in something good because so far it's just a huge mess and it's BORING
