  1. Shivers down my spine emerge as soon as the chorus in The Blackest Day hits, and lyrically, sonically and musically it's simply a delight listening to her delve into issues of depression and melancholia, whilst at the same time delivering some of the purest vocals I've heard.
  2. Who even cares about Taylor copying Lana anymore? It's silly and redundant as it's a lost cause, Lana doesn't even bother.
  3. UV was a nearly different matter, it was a masterpiece in every sense of word, while Honeymoon is so & so and hasn't impressed me as much as UV did. Yes, it's a good album, it has its highs and lows, but having this condescending attitude and simply being unconcerned is worrying. Expecting your album to sell with little to no promotion at all (don't tell me talking to your fans, giving them a goodbye kiss, and having a live radio performance counts as good promotion) only means she isn't doing it right, the music industry is, in fact, a business nowadays and should strongly be treated as one. The only thing people remember her for are strictly her breakthrough songs like SS, Y&B and VG, which is a little appalling considering these are more than 2 years old, and she indubitably needs that breakthrough song, and needs to start appearing more in the spotlight if she wants to get her presence in the music industry acknowledged.
  4. Hence I said it's a very possible scenario. Don't see what she wants to be or where she's heading to with this no-fucks-to-give attitude. It's pissing me off.
  5. I'm scared of it being forgotten into oblivion with no one really even caring at the end of this year except us, and the sad truth is that this is a very possible scenario. It's a big blow for her, it would be for anyone.
  6. I told everyone to give Swan Song another chance, and here it is - people finally realised the etheric vocals and the incredible chorus make for an incredible outcome. It's one of her better works of art, and to wrap it up with such a dark yet pleasing ending makes me deem it among the top songs from her.
  7. Good point and it made me think a little, well put together. It's a discussed matter about her not wanting to put out more of her work and be more assiduous when it comes to putting out music videos or, what have you, tours and such. She could promote herself more and more, and oh do I always see Taylor Swift, Rihanna; and oh my, Halsey work their asses off to promote themselves & their work, and don't start with the 'she's an artist she needs time'. Needs time? Time for change, perhaps. Time for a change in which her being more involved in the spotlight is one of the priorities. She's like an outsider into this music industry, and putting an album as was Honeymoon straight off the bat with little to no promotion at all, just some small meetings and kissing some fans is simply not enough, and let's add being as lazy as you said which by itself is a one huge flaw even for a beloved person like her who is fortunate to have such fans like us. Call me whatever you want, but she could have just done so much more. There's no way sales would impact my views on her music, but with this no-fucks-to-give attitude she's not going anywhere near we want her to.
  8. I strongly consider all the negativity you lot have centered towards Lana is due to you having heard the album on repeat several times and knowing that it's going to be one long wait up until the next, thus having this outré feeling about her & her work.
  9. I still want that Kanye - Lana collab, god damn.
  10. Found this new one Oh, and found this in a better quality.
  11. I didn't want to count the 'blue' in TLY considering it's got the derivative 'blues'. Either way, it's around ~25, a lot for a single word.
  12. 5 in Honeymoon 4 in MTWBT 2 in GKIT 8 in Freak 3 in Salvatore 1 in TBD ------------------- 23 references of the colour 'blue' in total.
  13. I'm so in love with this. She genuinely doesn't know which way the camera is facing, I love her.
  14. Oh wow, oh my sweet, lovely lord and saviour Jesus Christ please come and save me. She's stunning. Simply stunning, fantastic photoshoot. Casual looking Lana is the best thing in the universe, basically unparalelled.
  15. Honeymoon isn't as bad of an album as some of you imply. Yes, it could have been better indeed, but you've got The Blackest Day, which I consider to be the magnum opus of her career, you've got the delicate etheric vocals in Swan Song, you've got the melancholic and dreary bridge of Terrence Loves You, and let's not forget about that radiant and rather satisfying feeling when you finish listening to Art Deco and Freak. It's a good album, not better than Ultraviolence, but not that far off either, and certainly won't be an ephemeral piece of her work like Paradise.
  16. Oh, fair. I just saw it somewhere on Twitter and realised it hadn't been posted here yet, so I gave it a go.
  17. Some outtakes, for you guys. She's just amazing.

  19. It's unfair she looks so cute even in the least attractive outfits you'd think of.
  20. The tracks you listed are among my preferences as well, so that's a start indeed. I don't see what's so special about Salvatore, perhaps it's Lana being cheesy as hell with some of the most colorful lyrics of hers in the recent times, or who knows, I could be wrong. It's always a matter of subjectivity when it comes to ranking certain records from an album, but I feel that Religion and Salvatore are way too cheesy for my liking, and feel as though tracks like The Blackest Day, Terrence Loves You, God Knows I Tried and Swan Song are generally superior to the ones I've listed earlier. I'm not judging, of course, but it's a forum where absolutely everyone can express their own opinions.
  21. Guess everyone has their own opinions, but I'd rank Swan Song among the better tracks of this album. The chorus is simply iconic, so simple yet so powerful and enchanting. I fell in love from the very first listen.
  22. I've thought about that for a while, and I haven't found anyone who is somewhat similar to Lana. At first, she striked me as the typical Tumblr singer, whose fans were hipster-ish 14 year old girls with suicide tendencies. Perhaps a major factor into Why isn't she selling that much? is the sheer fact that she's difficult to understand, and when compared to the likes of Tay Tay or Demi you get an odd equation. She's VERY different, and I've told every single one of my friends to at least give her a try and they've all told me she's boring and plain. To sum it all up, biggest thing I've learned from Lana herself is that you need patience, and many people seem to disown her work just because of not posessing any kind of patience. Just my thoughts.
  23. I know a gifted person when I see one, trust me. Keep trying, you will find your way one day. I'd be surprised if in ~ 3 years time you tell me you're not a writer.
  24. Oh my word, you truly are a gifted person and should definitely consider becoming a writer.
  25. I reckon her poor decision making is related to her trying to be as eccentric as she can, it's not doing her any good.
