that’s not a very valid point, seeing as white mustang vid was meant for tnbar and freak was meant for ultraviolence. both those vids made a lot of sense in the context of the songs they were meant for. also lmlylaw & mac were lazy vids. also yeah pretty sure tnbar was always called that, wasnt architecture just an alt name/fan title? anyways not relevant again, she didn’t need rick to rewrite a few words. anyways my point is that the demo we got was definitely the one intended for lfl. that doesn’t necessarily mean she didn’t decide to scrap it and rework it (before lfl was released) for a future album. just because she reworked it before lfl came out doesnt mean the reworked version was intended for lfl. she already had the vid shot, but then the song leaked, and more than likely that’s when she decided to both scrap it from lfl and rework it for a future release. soooo….?

(also rick is the only other one mentioned in the songwriting credits, there are 4 producers on the song) it was deffo changed, good try tho bestie!

I don’t frequent this thread much, so it’s probably been said before but Even though I see a lot of chemtrails hate, with tons of people calling it her worst album, I feel like down the line a lot of people will refer to it as one of her best. Sure, the era was practically nonexistent - which kinda kills the vibe during release, but it’s probably one of her most cohesive bodies of work to date. It’s a little short, but each song fits so nicely together and it makes so much sense, no filler tracks in sight, just a great 11 track run. god i love this record

TNBAR was definitely changed for nfr. the music video they shot for it doesn’t really match the nfr version, but matches the demo that leaked before lfl perfectly not by jack, but it was changed

I mean, the op wasn’t even like a comparison of the two, just the way they release music/have an era when they both came from the same tumblr era genre See i’ve never seen much inspiration from lana in her music, I think I started stanning the both of them around 2014/15, and ik there was a big thing with new americana & national anthem (?) - but I didn’t even underetand that, they’re like so very different, and esp in her music post-badlands.. i can find 0 comparisons to be drawn - like u say it’s constantly borrowed from other artists but.. where?? when it comes to g-easy his white mustang can really grab hold on a girl i guess

Yeah, it’s definitely hit or miss. With architecture/bar lanz kinda really changed the vibe of the song, and the demo version just hits a lot harder. Also, the fact that we literally have the music video for the demo version (which is so beautiful - I’m still mad it was given to white mustang), and so it kinda sucks seeing what was supposed to be vs what was actually released I’m super excited thunder is making the cut for the new album, but I do love the demo a lot. the vocal takes, the instrumental, everything - so I am a little scared that she might change some of the things I like so much about it, but idk I have hope

I’ve really never gotten the trend to hate halsey lmao, I thought we left that in 2015 but okay. Whether you like her music or not you can’t deny that she does really care about her art and uses it’s full potential (and does it beautifully tbh) something that lanz has been lacking lately

I know the album only came out a month ago, but it’s a bit sad how dry this era has been so far (post release). We had the concert a day after the album.. got a few interviews and literally one photo shoot besides the album shoot. with the concept of this album we could’ve gotten some great magazine photoshoots, or i wish we would’ve at least gotten some cool lyric videos or something. hell we haven’t even got the actual merch yet?? hopefully she still has some things coming

Agreed, the production is fun but my god, the lyrics are so cringey I can barely stand to listen to it, i don’t understand how it’s so high on some people’s rankings. and same - I’d 100% prefer “janky” tfj than something way way way too polished like l+f.

That’s not exactly what happened - and that’s not exactly how it works voting wise either. Especially with Abel there was a lot of talks by inside sources about some ultimatum that was like “you either get the super bowl or grammy noms” and well, he did the superbowl. Anyways yeah the grammys has been pretty sketchy for years, with claims that it’s rigged, they can be bribed, etc. Awards shouldn’t matter that much, but I do get that it’s super nice to be recognized for something, it’s definitely validating in a way.

it’s funny that you name billie… a very alt artist i def agree she should’ve won a grammy by now but that’s the academy’s fault. the grammys are a scam anyways so who cares

actually submitting under pop gives her a much better opportunity to get nominated, and that’s where most of her music falls best anyways. when submitting an album under pop there’s 5 different awards that can be won - whereas there’s only one alt award - best alt album (even most alt acts submit under rock, because there’s more rock awards). same with folk, there’s only best folk album (also her music doesn’t quite fit there?) so basically when she submits under pop - she has potential for best pop song / album / performance / etc , she doesn’t have that opportunity if she submitted under different genres

Okay while I am obsessed with the BB cover, and honestly it made me like the title blue banisters more, I wouldn’t be mad if she changed it. Overall it’s sorta basic (in a good way), but could definitely be improved, and I’m sure neil has shot some better pics as well that being said i am still very much hoping BB isn’t the final title
