Whatever. it will be annoying that if levitating gets any grammys - it’ll most likely be the remix credited, really wish they would’ve released a megan remix or something around its peak to 1) get it to #1 bc god was it close and 2) give us/grammys another option besides dahomophobe

i don’t really love speculating abt their friendship too much but.. maybe?? i feel like people make it into some big dramatic thing like “omg they were besties and now they hate each other!” but tbh I always felt like their friendship was sorta fanservice more than anything, they knew their fans would absolutely love and adore seeing their favs together. They don’t ever see each other or hangout but I’m sure they probably like congratulate each other on new releases and stuff and keep at least a little in touch

not really the only other album i can think of that was dead upon arrival was chemtrails and that’s just because it was delayed months and lana got bored of it.. and then announced another album right after (also chromatica but we know that had a giant rollout planned and covid just kinda crushed it to shreds) most artists keep the promo up months and months after they drop the album, new vids, performances, interviews, pushing singles, etc etc etc marinas idea of promoting an album is going on podcasts and saying the same shit every time, posting her friends on her ig story, and not saying a word about her actual music that just came out

the way it’s just not that deep idk why people care when artists change titles of songs on yt/streaming (the girlies had a MELTDOWN when charli changed unlock it to unlock it [lock it]) like…? it doesn’t change the art at all lol it just makes the song easier to find for tiktok stans, doesn’t effect literally anything else

I know, it’s so odd that handmade heaven’s cover is on spotify. Also in karma’s case - i think it’s because it wasn’t an “official” single? It was performed on tv once but it didn’t even get a video besides the acoustic one, even to be human got a vid for some reason. Idk that era was all over the place confusing

The single covers were great, I love that there was actually.. ya know.. color in them, they made listening to superstar and orange trees more exciting to me. shame i have to look at the album art instead don’t get me wrong, marina looks great. but it’s so.. boring. thinking about the handmade heaven concept cover vs what we actually got?

there’s a few on yt! just search “ultraviolence freak video” and a few will pop up lol - there’s one that combines clips from both of em and it’s really nicely done!

ahah yeah! the freak video was for ultraviolence - but iirc her label didn’t let her release it bc the song mentions “jim” and they thought the video would evoke a lot of jim morrison cult comparisons and would cause controversy or whatever - that’s why her look is so UV in that vid! and why ultraviolence got such a low budget iphone video despite being her comeback after btd. and there’s no lip syncing lol. then with white mustang, there were a few videos from behind the scenes of lana singing tnbar, also the video matches the demo of the song perfectly aha, and again - no lip syncing! scrapped tnbar and decided she still wanted to use the video i guess

wtf is this remix . i really thought she was gonna get a really good remix this era seeing as she got tove on it but oh well. she tried. at least it’s cute hearing tove sing the chorus. usually i hate remixes just being the original production w a different artist on a verse/chorus…. but i’d much prefer that than… these remixes
