Lana Songs That Sound Like Other Artists?

What do you guys think are some LDR songs that sound like they could be from other artist? Or at least that they give you a certain vibe.

 

I'll start!

 

Art Deco reminds me of FKA twigs production from LP1 but also from her latest record Magdalene because of the mix between electronic beats and organic, real instruments.

 

Venice Bitch always gave me slight Pink Floyd and Red Hot Chili Peppers vibes.

 

If Cinnamon Girl was produced by Kevin Parker it would fit on his album Currents. That song gives me such violet/pink vibes.

 

Lust for Life could be performed perfectly by Kylie Minogue. Hypnotising, angelic pop. Perhaps from her album Aphrodite.

 

In My Feelings is so Rihanna.

 

Cruel World is also very David Gilmour's work from Pink Floyd - vocally not so much, Lana is more chaotic in this track, while Dave is all about calm singing.

You have a good ear for music. 

 

Those songs sound the way they do, perhaps because Lana herself , or the record producer in the studio, was influenced by those 

particular songs and their sound.  I do not consider this to be copying other artists, its not even "DJ sampling", but more like an influence.

All artists and musicians are influenced by other artists. 

Its all good. We (the fans) are the ones to benefit from it all, because we get to hear some very cool new songs.

 

I wonder what new songs, or musical styles, Lana has been recently listening to , to get some influence and ideas

to create new songs for her next album ?

From what I remember, first time I heard White Mustang, it reminded me of To Build A Home...

 

Gramma kinda reminds me of All The Right Moves by One Republic.

Lust For Life the album gives me a few Beatles vibes.

And I'm not too sure about this one, but Sad Girl started giving me Frank Sinatra vibes a while ago too...

Speaking of Arctic Monkeys - I feel that songs like Pin-Up Galore and Trash Magic would fit right into their Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino album! Also, Sad Girl sort of reminds me of their track Four Out Of Five for some reason??? Like a funkier weirder version of Sad Girl????
