Sinner Get Ready 321 Posted 13 hours ago despite shaking in my boots when ADIAML was revealed… now i’m just thinking what a slay it would’ve been had she had all the tracks dealing with that post-modern existential dread/ancient history thing she was going for in the title track + them having a similar sound to it… i might be the only one here but listening to ADIAML the sound and visuals gave me such a distinct feeling of the apocalypse or of a looming catastrophe. like impending doom almost with humanity that also coincides with ancient history. (for example, 0:05 - 0:21 of ADIAML; 2:00 - 2:04 of VFT) the shots of Petra, the exotic nature landscapes, the psychic and psychedelic visuals… that paired with her retrofuturistic outfits and hair… she really was doing something and it only took me 4 years to really appreciate it i just wish she took it a step further and really impelented it. it could’ve been such an amazing concept album with those apocalyptic soundscapes taking up half of the album with the ballads taking up the rest it was really disgruntled this might have just been word vomit of vibes that i felt back then which probably doesn’t make sense to others buttttt Merna is taking it this time 2 Quote inherited your dad’s crazy eyes, history repeats our whole damn lives Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Like she clearly began with the intention of creating a political feminist record but then changed the trajectory to a heartbreak and called it a day. L+F is not cohesive sonically at all and I feel it consists of two different dimensions: tropical latino and crystal clear vibes, ADIAML - is incohesive in its theme.
