Lasso - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

I always like to compare what other artists are doing around her and, well, some have « long pre-release eras » like CAS (5 months), some have shorter ones (2-3 months, like Billie or Omar Apollo). It really depends on how many vinyl variants there are and when was the masters submitted to physical production (which is always the big question).

so, back to Lasso, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a very short pre-release era this time around, like less than three months. 2024 is packed and GP is moving on very rapidly from new releases; labels all want big numbers on week one and have buzz around a new release, but they need for the pre-era to not drag on so much this time.

Many artists have yet to confirm their release dates. June is also a very big month this year when it comes to big returns and big lead singles.

it’s possible the Quavo song LFL’d the album a bit so now she doesn’t know how to talk about it (and let’s be real she’s never been good at describing her albums)

This is most plausible explanation for her vague answer to the NME question. 
(I’m here for it, tbh, a more « LFL » blend of genres for Lasso)

If the albums coming out in September than an announcement 3 months before so early July is feasible,  we’d be getting preorders and the exploitative 10 vinyl variations.

I am once again reminding you all that Ocean Blvd was almost a surprise release/announcement (the single actually was) cause she wasn't teasing the album at all leading up to the announcement.

 

The last "official" news we had were a CN snippet back in August and she suddenly announced the announcement () less than a week before the preorder.

 

There's so many signs pointing to the album actually coming this year (studio version snippets, her straight up saying it, confirming it to Elle some weeks ago...).

The fact that she included Tough and she is releasing it as a single (allegedly) confirms even more than the album is done, cause according to that insider she was considering its inclusion in the record back in February... and guess what... it's in there so the tracklist and album are done and being pressed right now 

 

The only counter argument is that vague and confusing interview which was probably about the sound and genre of the record and it sounded more like "it's done and it is what it is, we'll see" than "I scrapped it and started from scratch"
