And before Elon bought twitter, it was owned by the extreme left and it was some 1984 shit at that time, too. In my opinion, free speech is more limited on Twitter than ever, but not in the conventional way. Elon Musk is forced into your for you page by his new algorithm, and he literally just posts lies half the time + pro trump posts.

By favouring his posts in the algorithm and suppressing others, it just goes to show he controls everything on that app and “free speech” is just a facade when his right wing posts are favoured by his algorithm

As terrifying as these picks are, they still have to be confirmed by the senate. I’m sure some will be confirmed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s pushback on someone like Gaetz. You’d love to see the republicans fight amongst themselves, not too dissimilar from when they struggled with their votes for speaker of the house. I hope I’m not being naive in my thinking.

At this point, aside from the senate actually needing to approve these people (which they’re already trying to bypass!!) we just need to hope the incompetence will grind everything to a hault (so the more extreme policy won’t pass as easily) while also not completely weakening our entire government (which seems to be the actual goal here)

 

I will say it’s a bit funny (not ha ha funny but scary funny) how after 4 years of “Trump is hitler and if republicans get into office America will be destroyed” Biden is shaking his hand and saying “welcome back”

Trump has established that he will make recess appointments which will ultimately give them the job without Senate confirmation. I can’t imagine it to be permanent but I agree that Gaetz, Gabbard, and Hegseth have a more than uphill battle for Senate confirmation

I’m nervous to see what he does after the trial balloon that was his first term. It feels like the calm before the storm. He has total power now and will only have yes men around him this go around. That said, I’m already sick of democrats like senator Warren tweeting bullshit like “trump is already breaking the law?!!”. Girl, shut up, get off twitter and do something about it? I’m not ready for the constant chaos and drama.
