Listened to EYEYE this morning, probably going to have another listen in the bath. I don't get how people don't love this record.

 

I spent a long, dark night at the end of a 5 year relationship with it, and definitely...drew the line(s)...so to speak. Will always have a special place in my heart! Her best work FOR ME!

I wish she would have released all of these instead of just attaching "Midnight Shining" to the 10th anniversary edition of the album, which was so lazy. This is one of my favorite albums of all time 

 

interestingly enough, this confirms "No One Ever Loved" featured in "The Fault in Our Stars" movie was indeed an outtake from the era. Also, the list didn't include leaked tracks "Burning Bridges" and "Heavenly Lies".

I knew that Lykke had released a lot of 7" records at the start of her career, but wasn't aware that a few had alternative versions of songs with the same title.

Only today, 13 years into being a fan I finally managed to find an acoustic version of Until We Bleed (from the Tonight single), and a demo (?) of Time Flies (from the Little Bit single)

 

It's now amongst the other "debris"

I was adding a bunch of songs to [REMOVED] that were a pain to find in good quality but apparently their main file server was destroyed in the war in Ukraine recently 

Are there any good alternatives with a search function?

 

Added them to [REMOVED] in the meantime, they're all in ALAC 16bit/44.1 kHz.

Fr tho. I'm just getting into her discography so if you (or anyone for that matter) have any recommendations that would be amazing.

If those two are your favorite songs, I'd definitely recommend listening to their respective albums, Wounded Rhymes and I Never Learn. Lots more in the same style on each one.

As for getting into the rest of her discography, I'd say continue with the singles on her debut album, Youth Novels, then do the rest of the album, if those appealed to you.

 

The later parts of her discography are tougher to crack. So Sad, So Sexy is a bit more commercial and conventional and its accompanying Still Sad, Still Sexy EP doesn't add a whole lot to the  experience. Her latest album, Eyeye, is very heavy, sonically spare and vocally soft. Can be a bit tough to enjoy, as it's not nearly as melodically driven and serves more as a tonal work.
