I love how they both complimented each other's music (Marina on Twitter, Lana in an interview). It's nice to see female artists, especially ones in a similar genre, co-operating instead of creating conflict.

I respect your opinion but the actual meanings behind her songs are really dark. Even Primadonna is laced depressing lyrics, it's about a girl who fills her heart with possessions because love means nothing to her. She needs the constant attention because there is no other way for her to feel anything .

I know what you mean, but I still find Marina's songs lighter than Lana's... maybe because she's often so ironic. Her tunes are often more poppy (at least from Electra Heart).

It's funny because Lana seems slightly more lighthearted than Marina :giveup:

 

Lana's vocals an instrumentals help her sound more dark and stuff (plus the explicitness in her lyrics).

Blame her tumblr fanbase treating her song lyrics as gospell and pasting them all over the site. I maybe would be okay with her, but I suffer from an acute case of hype backlash.

Also, I find her twitter posts really annoying with how "relatable" she tries to be. I don't know, I'm not into artists who post about how ~awkward~ and ~antisocial~ they are(despite their career showing otherwise) and how they're obsessed over food.

I don't like any of her records and I find her really overrated. Can't help it, sorry.

I'm talking about Marina's twitter posts. I don't care enough to dig them up, but I've seen ones exactly like this "omg so awkward how to socialise".

Not everyone loves Marina and I'm just as entitled to my opinion as you are.

I've heard alot of people in ours and her fandom comparing Marina and Lana. I just wanted to know generally what you guys think about Marina and the Diamonds.

And also I know Lana said she liked Marina's song Teen Idle, do you think they'd do good together in a song?

Anyways, I think they're really different artists and I don't think a collab between them would work. Marina's songs are usually trying to say something bold or send a message, while Lana writes for herself. What would the song even be about? Their voices are also very unlike each others'. I don't think they're complementary. They're styles also differ sonically. Each one's production is different. They just wouldn't fit together, imo.
