Regardless if timothys claims are true or not, alot of melanie’s fans cyber builieded timothy and breached her privacy…. thats not okay

this situation really is making me question Melanie and give these allegations more thought and I feel awful I hadn't done that before. whether Timothy lied or not will probably never be officially confirmed but I hope Melanie atleast speaks up this time instead of dropping 2 short statements a song and then ignoring the situation for the next 6 years. I realise I sound very anti-Melanie right now but I'm not I'm just trying to not let my love and appreciation for Melanie's art cloud my critical thinking and morals

It's not OK, but why are we acting like it doesn't go both ways? Melanie got 10x the hate when the allegation initially came out. Nothing really came of it, people moved on, and now history is repeating itself since there's a new audience on TikTok. Melanie still gets harassment from Timothy's supporters, and vice versa, that's how it's always been since 2017. But it's always "Melanie needs to defend her against the hate" and never the other way around -

 

People fail to realise they have both, and still do, experience online vitriol. TH supporters were spreading around leaked revenge porn of Melanie in 2017 from when she was barely 18 as "revenge", they're currently spreading Melanie's address on Twitter, calling her black boyfriend racial slurs and trying to contact her parents. And of course death threats, but like who's surprised, it's the internet. Are we urging Timothy to speak up and defend her though? Because she hasn't.

 

Also there's no "new" situation; it's the exact same story from seven years ago being retold on a new platform. There is no information beyond what was already known and said back then. We had seven years, and people have brought it up constantly since then, so it's not like anyone forgot. Maybe it's a true enlightening for some people, but IDK... the sudden outrage just because it's trending on TikTok is giving faux activism to me.

 

I wish there were a real solution to this, but they've both already made multiple statements. It's been nearly 10 years since the alleged incident, there's no new information, no action being taken. I'm not sure where either of them should go from here.

it better be a concept/story-FREE album. just keep it in a loose theme around either relationships (romantic, family, friends, fans, etc) or a some kind of compilation revisiting her outtakes and completely revamping them for her 2025/2026 thinking

I don't think Melanie will address it again, she's moved on, but I think it's the opposite for Timothy. Her entire career is based off tearing Melanie down, all of her teen stans that she's friends and interacts with have "why Melanie Martinez is problematic" threads pinned at the top of their Twitter feeds. In her text messages with Globelamp () she was talking about how jealous she is of Melanie, and how hurt she was that Melanie cut her off and ended the friendship.
 

Timothy actually told a fan on TikTok a few weeks ago that she's "hopefully dropping new music soon"; this would be the first time since 2019, as she's primarily focused on her Onlyfans and prostitution work since then. I would hope this isn't the case, but if she felt the need to speak up again as a form of promotion for her own musical work—like how the initial allegation was announced only 1 month after she dropped her debut solo single—then that's very sad; she needs peace.

The sad thing is that people won't see it for what it could be/is, they actually genuinely see it as oh Melanie did x thing and poor Timothy. I'm not saying either of them are right because again neither of us will ever know but you pointing out that there's new music coming and this is essentially a rehash of before makes me wonder 🤔 this is getting ridiculous at this point there has to be something that can be done to put a rest to this 

Also did you see the video someone posted about a previous friend of Timothy's that tim cut off for no reason and basically said they believed Tim at first then found out she lied a lot about things and was a POS?

I'd live for it, but also, she got so much backlash from Piggyback — so in the grand scheme of things, it probably wouldn't be a good look 💀 the best thing for her reputation would be an attempt to properly clear her name / work something out with Timothy. 

 

Many didn't appreciate Piggyback since they felt that releasing a song, or "diss track", was inappropriate and an attack towards Timothy. I have no issue with the song itself though, since it was a free release (meaning she made no profit whatsoever from the situation) + music has always been her main form of self-expression. If Timothy released a song about the allegations villainising Melanie, those people wouldn't have an issue, it would be "you go girl for standing up for yourself!" — It's hypocritical and wack. I do wish she did more to defend herself though.

Exactly, I personally think this situation should be proof that not alligations of SA or Grape are true, alot of them are and we shouldn't minimize things but certain case by case stuff just aren't true

The thing is Melanie now has more fans and a lot of them are very young and didn’t even know that this happened in 2017. If you look on her recent pics on insta there’s a new comment every few minutes with people begging her to speak up. I’m sure her and her team are freaking out and she should honestly just make a response before important news sites start writing articles. There’s already some articles that are talking about the situation and she’s still trending on twitter.
