It's funny how this thread goes from hating her > loving her > defending her > hating her > defending her > loving her > feeling pity for her > defending her > hating her

It's a lot more nuanced than that, actually. It's not about giving people what they "want", per se - plenty of artists take their sound or art in a different direction than when they started, upsetting fans and puzzling critics. It's more about having respect for yourself, the art you've created, and the willingness to be open with your fans, honest about what's going on, and commit to the brand you've created. The fact that there's so many stories and narratives around her and her career, several of them conflicting, and the absolute drought of art overall - at some point you have to acknowledge that the call is coming from inside the house, and personally - hoping for the better and supporting her WHILE ALSO making shitposts and taking the piss out of the situation, believe it or not, can coexist.

I can tell you that every single person who has ever contributed to this thread will be doing so, regardless of their takes.

I won't, and I do.

There's a great, great amount of people out there - good people, talented people, smart people - who are thirsting for the spotlight, dying for recognition, and trying their hardest to get a single moment of attention, and being sidelined. It's frustrating, if not infuriating, to watch someone manage to get all that, and then just....squander it, throw tantrums, refuse to play "the game", tell lies, put their ego on high, and somehow still expect to still be treated like they're on boss - people can see that. It's not really fun to watch. It's going to turn some people off, and in cases where people were really rooting, hard, for someone to shine and instead they blow it up and in several places it all looks self inflicted? Some people are gonna swing the pendulum the other way and ride the bitter train all the way down into the mud when they see that happening.

That kind of behavior is a way to gas off the feelings of frustration and loss. Is it the best or nicest? Probably not. But fans who really took an artists work to heart, and gave it space in their lives; fans who really identified with it deeply, only to see that work end up standing neglected as a one off, or who see the artist as ultimately tarnishing their legacy - there's absolutely some emotions in that, and sometimes it's going to go the shitty way, and people are going to take that and run with it.

I just checked and her SoundCloud is still connected to her own personal email (lmao), so yeah… What a strange thing for her to lie about. 
 
Anyway, I'm excited for Leash to come out. Would be sweet if get more music but I don't want to get my hopes up for any album yet. Also, I think most people here prefer the Jorge Elebrecht-style songs—which I'm also a fan of—but I'm hoping for some more electronic/pop sounding traxxx like initially promised hehe

We need A24 or whoever she's working with to put her under more real deadlines. Apparently she was under a deadline for Leash and managed to get that song done in time.

I would say give it a listen, you have nothing to lose. After that, listen to Portals Sessions and decide if the demos are better or not

I wanted to ask about you showing up at Kevin Abstract’s Coachella set earlier this year to sing a cover of “Need You Now” by Lady A. Are you gonna drop a studio version anytime soon, or at least upload it to your SoundCloud?
I love that song, so maybe. But I would need to get my SoundCloud password back from Capitol. Yeah, they somehow got my password and locked me out of my account. It was a whole thing back in, like, 2018. It was maniacal, dude. People keep telling me I need to let go of the past, but the past is still very much my present.

I wanted to post something now that it's back in my hands.I promise I will be posting a lot more stuff on here & will let you know more about my album. I always feel a lot more comfortable sharing music related things here instead of Instagram etc

Here from Twitter - I didn't know she dropped a music video, but everyone is slamming her for the AI cover art. I just can't believe that got green lit, and especially with all the blatant spelling errors. It looks awfullllll.
 
Everyone used to make fun of Lana's PicsArt single artworks (Me included) but in retrospect I definitely prefer amateur/DIY PicsArt covers over AI prompt slop (Which is 10000x lazier)... Like, at least you can tell the former was made by a human.
