I will never get the BTR hate within this base. The production is great, love the mix of pop rock with electronics and the lyrics are camp. How you gonna hate on those lyrics while singing along to
“good girls shouldn’t party we do what we supposed to do” and “can I take you to the airport, make out under the bathroom lights”

Exactly how you gonna hate on this avicii smells like teen spirit remake(but seriously listen to them back to back…) it’s an experimental moment maybe ahead of it’s time for some!
Wtf was she supposed to say- it’s catchy and a great melodic hook- she was going for a I want Candy moment at the time as she stated until she retconned her comments and said it was stupid….bizarrely.

honestly yes I do think this is part of it, anything and everything she does gets hate, even when it's obviously a joke like when she said she had laser eye surgery to remove the blue light spectrum, the media were reporting it like she was 100% serious and got quotes by doctors. people were calling her a dumb bitch and it makes me weep for humanity that people couldn't see the amount of sarcasm in that post.
more and more people just deal with extremes as the internet has killed nuance. this will either be the best album she's ever made and everyone will love her again or this will be the worse thing she's ever done and she'll get more hate because people have made up this idea of what the album should be in their heads. this album can never be 'not quite as good as art angels/visions' but still really enjoyable, it either has to be good or bad.

I'm a little late, but Portal is such a good album! Clearly above K-12, too generic and cluttered, here we have a nice musical consistency with a pop rock touch of the 90/00's. Nice disc with good production quality. Glad you enjoyed it.
Melanie is good at bringing her creations to life with originality, personality and a lot of perfectionism. Passionate artist it becomes rare.
Only downside is her costume, I don't understand how she could have become a fairy after CB, but it's her story I guess.
